Big fan of both guys, never said one is easily better or worse than the other. You're just hurt in your feels because I don't overrate Chappell. What I find hilarious from @Johan is that a few weeks ago, he was a discussion how close to Holding was to Marshall, how his dad was it, questioned who the best of the WI from that era.
But now somehow Trueman is easily better.
Would go quite that far.Big fan of both guys, never said one is easily better or worse than the other. You're just hurt in your feels because I don't overrate Chappell.
I just think he's held to a different standard of away scrutiny than most other cricketers of ATG standard are held to. Kike Legit, I think Beefy was better.Yes, he's not the best bat of the era, actually never really was. But don't understand what's with the recent separation between he and Sunny, he was an ATG batsman in a difficult era.
Beefy?I just think he's held to a different standard of away scrutiny than most other cricketers of ATG standard are held to. Kike Legit, I think Beefy was better.
BothamBeefy?
As a batsman or a cricketer?
I disagree with either, but which are you referencing.?
Oh, yeah still definitely disagree, but though you meant as a batsman alone.Botham
As a Cricketer
Even a guy under 5 different kind of drugs won't claim Botham was a better batsman than ChappellOh, yeah still definitely disagree, but though you meant as a batsman alone.
That's what I was thinking, lolEven a guy under 5 different kind of drugs won't claim Botham was a better batsman than Chappell
Surely there’s someone.Even a guy under 5 different kind of drugs won't claim Botham was a better batsman than Chappell
I'm under 6.Even a guy under 5 different kind of drugs won't claim Botham was a better batsman than Chappell
Most of us never saw Fred Trueman play so we have to rely on his records and it isn’t that impressive. That’s a surprising poll result. I feel like Trueman used to be rated clearly above Garner, Donald, Holding, and Akram.
A very interesting way of "Relying on his records".Most of us never saw Fred Trueman play so we have to rely on his records and it isn’t that impressive.

Great record at home.
Never played in Asia.
Averages 27.5 in Aus & 32 in Eng.
Fred Trueman not playing in Asia should be plus if anything. Asian teams back then weren't some immovable object.Michael Holding had an ATG series in India.
6 Tests. 30 wickets @ 22 and SR of 45.
Allan Donald never played a full proper 5 Test series but his overall record in Asia is great.
9 Tests. 36 wickets @ 20 and SR of 48.
