English Domestic Season 2025

State Regular
Now gone for 305, and may well be heading for the nearest ice bath after batting in these condtions for a day and a half. He must have sweated several kilos during this innings. 785 for 6 now, with Jacks on 91. Maybe allowing Jacks to reach three figures before declaring.
Yeah heck of an effort. George Drissell having some fun in the sun too - 45 overs 1/247. Sure he's enjoying the Kookaburra experiment.

Was a bad enough call at the toss falling for a bit of green on the wicket. Before you then look at our attack.

When apart from Raine/Potts is a very poor one. Drissell is never a first division spinner, Hogg is greener than green and Neesham playing his first FC game in 3 years.

I asked this on the other thread. But can't have been many if any higher scores after losing the toss and being put into bat.

Jake Libby got 200...... Can't remember the last time Worcestershire had two batsman who both got double hundreds in the same innings

Maybe trying to beat their highest ever score, which was 811 against Somerset in 1899. I dunno, seems unnecessary to me.
Yep a pretty pointless thing when surely time in the game is more important.

But we will fold like a cheap deck chair an innings and 200 runs at a guess will be your victory margin.

Today will probably be tough, straight after five and a bit sessions in the field in these conditions. If they can reach stumps tonight without too much damage, I don't think the wicket is very likely to deteriorate on Days 3 and 4.

Andrew Samson who else answers the question

Well at least someone was worse than us in FC cricket putting a team into bat.

We are the worst in CC history beating this

Crowd will be very disappointed to see Kent v Northants delayed as looks like a thriller

Cool stat I see Colin Ingram scored his 14th FC hundred for Glamorgan. The most in the last 20 years for the County.

Alternatively, maybe the bowlers simply aren't good enough to cope with the kookabura ball.

But been comments from Aus,NZ and SA coaches and players here. Saying that the pitches just aren't conducive for getting anything from the ball.

It falls flat when England are playing with the Dukes and then large swathes of the CC will never play for England.

So what is the point other than for players who have previously struggled at test level or would struggle at test level to statpad their batting.

tbf, the Kookaburra ball now used in Australia is far more bowler friendly than previous versions and is basically a Duke by another name

I assume that the one being used in CC is the same so probably just the pitch & weather
