They beat England in the 2019 WC. Different format, but not entirely unrelated. And they've had their chances in the games that they lost in this tournament, so this match should never have been regarded as a formality. This is not the match I thought I was going to be watching.
This lot are actually quite good at this aren't they?
I'm not sure that entirely explains how this game is going so far.Win the toss win the match
They were pretty dire in their white ball tour of England this summer (Hasaranga excepted, from memory?). Hopefully England weren't taking them lightly due to that; as you say they've looked very good in this tournament so far. They beat England in the 2019 WC. We were probably 8 down at the halfway stage versus England47 has to be one of the lower scores we've seen at the half way stage of an innings in this WC.
He recovered pretty well tbf.Kumara is ****ing up this over
Aus have already beaten SL haven't they? I think they still have to play Bangladesh and WI.SL might well rue letting the SA game slip through their grasp if this group goes down to NRR. On the other hand, I don't see Aus or WI handling this bowling attack too well either. Early days yet but I'd bet on SL going through with England.
