Cricketer Of The Year
We were not West Indies (a cricket team) by then.
I think the West Indies toured England in 1900. It included Constantine's father, Lebrun and captained by Warner's brother RSA. There is a story where they played against Gilbert Jessop who hit balls out of the ground and down nearby streets. Apparently his innings was longer than it should've been because the West Indians were laughing so hard. Jessop repeated the performance later that year against Yorkshire. Being a side of more sombre characters it was reported that Yorkshire did not fall about laughing whenever Jessop hit his sixes. (though I think they counted for less than that then).
