EA Cricket 2004 bad news

Sorry guys, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but,

Today I have purchased rugby 2004 for PC and trust me guys it’s not pretty! The game is poorly made with glitches and bugs. The graphics are below shocking and game play is crap. If HB studio will have the same team working on a cricket game they might as well be fixing taps. I must say that I am very disappointed by the way RWC turned out, hoping for a GREATER improvement for cricket.

God, so EA are taking backward steps, thats all we need...
yeah i've stopped buying their FIFA games. can't wait till PES2 comes out on PC or PS2 when i get one ;):D. although their EA Games selection is quite good, but that deal with HB sorta screwed up their sports selection.

1st things 1st, ea sports dont make games, they release games. Notice, HB made rugby and it went under ea sports. Same with many others. However games as basketball and american football advance in all aspects each year. sharp detales smooth textures ect. i say screw HB and ask codemasters to make a decent cricket game, remember the good old days of BLC?

yeah i completely agree. SWC and BLC had the best gameplay :). that's why i'm switching to PES gameplay reasons. graphics last about a week, but it's the gameplay that makes you want to keep playing it :)

Have EA actually released anything officially about the date for Cricket2004. There's nothing on their website and I'd rather hear it from them than from someone who, 'knows someone who works there.'

Ive seen very little about the whole thing from EA, they are either being secretive or just really lazy and are going to make a shocker.. With the demise of ICC, i really need a decent game!!

I think HB are pushed for time, the've had a timeline to make rugby so they were busy making it and i bet there has been a little start on cricket yet! I will not be surprized if crciket 2004 will be almost identical to cricket 2002! To be perfectly honest i am not looking forward to the game anymore.

Cricket 2002 is a pretty pathetic game when you think about it. I don't like soccer but I did play Fifa 2003 or 2004 (can't remember which one) and boy it was fun. The graphics are so much better the game play is actuall realistic. Cricket 2002's graphics weren't that much better than Q-basic and there are so many glitches. If they are going to realease Cricket 2002 just with updated players I, for one, will not be buying it or at least keeping it. I would rather they release it a year later and improve the game 300%.

IMO, the worst thing about C2002 was the fact that all batsman have exactly the same ability. You could score just as many runs with someone like Waqar as you could say with Steve Waugh or Sachin...

After realizing this, i never went back to the game...

Fifa and NBA, NHL always keep up with graphics and improve their gameplay each year.

As much as i love cricket itself i think i will miss out on the 2004 version, after all there is the real thing. Go to the nets and have a bat :)

Hahahah it’s funny how we completely made a pi(s)s of hb studios, but then again our argument is strongly based on facts. Pfffff (rugby 2004) what a joke!

actually afer just playing it on PS2 (i hired it out and still have it) i really can't see wat you find so bad about it. sure the graphics may be a bit ****. but i found the gameplay qite addictive:O. wat did you find wrong with it??? just about the only thing wrong with it i feel is when you or the computer kicks for touch and the ball bounces a bit then suddenly bounces like a huge amount and into touch . otherwise i LOVE it :wow::cool2::O:D:saint:. seriously can you give me a list of issues wrong with it?? cause i really don't find much wrong with it. the rucks and mauls and scrums are very clean and :OREALISTIC!! they sorta put the ruck in slow motion as well which is a good idea. IMO a great game. takes a while to learn though. i had to do training and play about 3matches before i got it. now i can't stop playing it (well except to post here ;):P)

the game of rugby is all about different tackles and moves, the computer version is very limited, by that i mean there are 3 different tackles and and a couple of pass movements.
I personally only played rugby on PC and it has many graphical errors, screen would go black for no reason, the computer will restart of the resolution is too high?!?!?!?! now that's ****ed up! no other game does this and i am running gforce TI.

One thing straight, you cant compare rugby to fifa, nba, nhl ... these games pis(s) all over it no worries. Graphics sound.

Oh yeah one more thing, sometimes when you score a try the comintator will take ages to prosses what's going on. And sometimes the comintators just go away untill you score a try:O

another thing i've noticed, the game is only set so you can only use 3 buttons at once, sometimes you need more to sprint up field and the keyboard just beeps out making the game impossible to play!

wow.... the PS2 version is nothing like that. it's very sound and great to play. the tackling is limited but the gameplay isn't. i'm really having alot of fun with it none of the faults u mentioned have happened in the PS2 version. The World League is really great but i don't have a memory card :( so i can't save it :(

Just one more thing,

computer games and playstation games should be much different graphics wise! HB didnt use the full power of PC graphics which is very unfortunate.

Hmm im not sure about all this, I didnt find the graphics at all bad, and the game play is excellent.. I agree that there are a few too many glitches..

Maybe its a case of going into the config file in the game folder and tweaking around a bit, but Ill get by with the graphics im seeing at the moment on C2004...

However, when you look at FIFA 2004, it seems to be in another league, it looks incredible...

Im encouraged by EA's latest performances tho... I just want to see some sodding screenshots!

I just got the game for $20 (LEGALLY don't get any ideas) and the graphics are fine, you just have to click the icon, change the resolution to match your resolution and their fine. As for the gameplay well that sucks, you can't change the selected player which DRIVES ME INSANE!!
