Of course!! Black is on top of both of the tables!! (?)
Aren't Green top on OD? Or are we just below Black because of that draw only giving us a single point? Need that fixed if that's the case...

Back online now reds boys and superb to see our OD form continuing but our 4D form is once again slipping back into the poor area.. Let's keep pushing hard till the end Red.

On a personal note very happy with the 100 in the OD form of the game, but dissapointed with only 22 runs coming from my last 4 day effort. Absolutely appalling really.

You're just ahead of us in OD until we beat you again.

these rookies are getting out of hand, how good do they wanna make em selves!

You'd want somebody coming into a major representitive side to have excellent figures. No player will get selected if their batting averages are under 30 and their bowling averages above 35.

Just afraid of a little competition are ye simon? ;) I don't mind a few specialists here and there, as long as there isn't 400 ridiculous allrounders who bat at 35 and bowl at 25 :S

At least he doesn't bowl @ 21 :(. 46 isn't that bad... And I think it is Red's turn?
46 is more than what most test batsmen average in their test careers. (other than the current aussie's I guess).

Specialist bat is good, more specialists the merrier.

Enjoy your time.

I'll point out that most of the black batsmen submitted their averages in the mid-high forties - most have averaged around 30-33.

Good point. My average must have been high. I didn't quite understand how it worked.

Combination of Liam reducing it before entering it, good bowling attacks and bowler-friendly tracks.

Saturday 12th March

CW Blue v CW Red
at the CW Oval

A flat batting wicket made for thrilling cricket, as Cricket Web Red scored enough of their 303/7 to defend against Blue's 285/8. James Stedman score a maiden OD hundred for his team, whilst partnering Ian Markus for 189 runs for the second wicket. Toward the end, Dauth, Moerk and Ghansar got into the big-hitting act to lift the total over 300.

Blue tried to begin the chase positively, but the approach accounted for Camps, knocked over for 22. Cloete and de Silva rebuilt somewhat, then the former was run out. Fitzsimmons didn't last long before being trapped in front by Ghansar. Wilshere played a comfortable innings, but was caught hooking just when he looked set.

In his first OD game for a while, Cribb made a good return and played a adrenaline-boosting half-century to complement de Silva's. Jellett too was spirited and it appeared Blue would have a slim shot at victory. The batting simply did not fire enough at the very end though, and Red took a good win.

Man of the Match: JE Stedman

CW Black v CW Green
at the CWBCC Stadium

A tight run chase was not to be, as the Black middle order fell away to dismiss and victory chances at the very end. Green batted first and once again Malone and Goff scored hundreds. At 224/1 after 40 overs, things looked set for a huge total. However, Broadbent and Wilson returned well to keep the batsmen in check.

Chasing 279 for victory, Loc was out early and the score was 38/1. Chaulk continued his spectacular form though, and unfortunately just fell short of a hundred. He put on 98 runs with Butler for the second wicket, and Butler got to a very good 50. When he was out, Kearsley joined Chaulk to add a further 97 runs and get his own half-century.

When the partnership was broken, things went downhill. Just 11 runs were added as 4 wickets tumbled and the recovery was never sufficient. Malone claimed 4 wickets amidst the collapse to seal a Man of the Match award.

Man of the Match: RJ Malone

A close-run loss and a good win whilst I've been away, Reds. Better, but still room for improvement.

Congrats to mr. Stedman, aswell
