simple question , both arguably the best bowlers in the 70s , both with immense peer rep making up for their Statistics ( Which are Great mind you ) ,was wondering who is rated generally higher

Lillee was a huge failure in the subcontinent while Roberts has a better rounded record. Still have to give it to Lillee.

Lillee will always win out in this comparison, not just due to being a better bowler imo but also because of the other Windies bowlers that came along during Roberts career and his glorious mustache.

Andy's stats sure are weird , averaging 28 at home and 23.8 away from home , seemingly the batting average in windies in Roberts lifespan was 38 and outside was 34 , seemingly the windies pitches in his career span were extremely flat , thoughts?

Lill|ee's failiure in Subcontinent is contextual iirc , never played in India , went to Pakistan with a back injury and pakistan served epic roads where all matches ended in draw and only played one test in sri lanka ( a spin pitch ).

While I have no doubt Lillee would've succeeded in Asia too if he went in his prime and the pitches were not just 3 straight draw type roads , you can use it to say Roberts is a more tested cricketer.
