Webheads give Karachi the Blues

In devastating fashion, Cricket Web 'A' started the Pakistan leg of its subcontinental tour with victory over the Karachi Blues. A cracking hundred from Bryce Cunningham and an innings of beautiful strokeplay from Anthony Lezama helped set up the victory with a first innings total of 438.

Having established big runs on the board, the Webheads set about to outclass the Karachi batsmen with the ball. Only Hasan Raza managed great resistance, as Cunningham shone again with 3 wickets to his name. Also among the wickets was tour-callup Sudeep Popat.

Forced to follow on before tea on the third day, the Karachi batsmen struggled to an even greater extent. The top order batsmen did give a slight hint of fight, but when the third wicket fell at 88, it was a signal to a dramatic collapse. Sean Bennett spun out 4 wickets in total and the final 8 wickets fell for just 31 runs.

No surprises when Cunningham was named Man of the Match.
