Cricketers who should have played a certain format in international cricket , but for some reason were never picked ?

Neil Wagner never played an ODI for New Zealand which is a huge surprise.
His unsteady start in tests (still averaging mid-30's up to 2016) didn't help, but he also never really banged the down in domestic white ball cricket either. More than that his career overlapped with NZ's greatest ever ODI bowling lineup: Boult, Southee, Mills, Milne and McClenaghan in the early stages, and then Henry, Boult, Ferguson and Southee later on. When your 3 frontline quicks all average around 25 in internationals, you have to be doing something pretty special to elbow your way in and Wagner never got particularly close to that.

It's still very weird when you consider how most sides have tended to rest their bowlers from JAMODIs over the last decade+. You can be the 10th best quick in your country and still play occasional ODIs

Nicholls playing over Bruce in particular has been absolutely horrendous selection. Current Bruce is comfortably better than peak Nicholls anyway IMO. Fire Stead, etc.
Peak Nicholls scored tons v bona fide Test nations and won us Test matches...big call.

There's no spot for Bruce, unless he wants to bat in the top 4 (where Nipples shouldn't bat either). Shame with his outstanding FC record but 5-7 are sewn up, and it's time to go to Rachin, drop Macewell and let Conway bat 3 or 4 (Kane or Young around him).

Imad Wasim , handy cricketer but uncapped at Test level for Pakistan , very strange how he's been treated by the selectors.
