Viv Richards- the Master Blaster
Not sure of the origins of this one, but it fits the dude so perfectly.

Brian Lara- The Prince of Port of Spain

Shivnarine Chanderpaul- Tiger
Early on in his career he was an excellent fielder. Shiv was on record saying that he doesn't know why "the manager and coach" calls him Tiger.

GoodAreasShane

Cricketer Of The Year
My favourite still has to be Sloon Tait. Came about from a Sri Lankan hotel receptionist and their complete inability to pronounce Shaun correctly.

Gary MiniGolf Putland another pretty good one from my neck of the woods

Joe Denly goes by No Pants which still amuses me

Steve 'Tugga' Waugh is another clever one

'Universe Boss' Chris Gayle deserves a mention

'White Lightening' Allan Donald a classic one

George Headly used to be called the Black Bradman, probably counts

There is Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi aka 'Tiger' Pataudi

MrPrez

International Debutant
Dale Steyn - Phalaborwa Express

Lance "Zulu" Klusener

Paul "Gogga" Adams (gogga is bug in Afrikaans - based on how he looked when he bowled)

Didn't they name him 'Audi' when he got four ducks in a row?

EDIT : Referring to Mark Waugh there. The Aussies are far more creative with their nicknames compared to the English, who usually just stick a 'y' at the end of the name.

You mean Bradman got called the White Headley. Tiger O’Reilly and Grum were quality.

Some cricketers' nicknames become so ubiquitous it's almost odd to hear them called by their given names, Jack Russell, Freddie Flintoff, Tubby Taylor & Dizzy Gillespie being obvious examples.

Apple Crumble was a great one in the Tait regard (based on the Poms not being able to pronounce Anil Kumble properly)
