I hope it doesn't sound like im having a go but

Paul Weekes is nearly 37, Neil has more chance of making the WC squad than him.

No Dmitri Mascerenhas (sp), Afzaal, Sidebottom. Greame Swann, Middlebrook or Napier are much more likley amongst spinners than Panesar.
I'll let you in on a secret, Dave....my England Ladder was written at 3am. I did think I'd miss out a few people - I'd imagine some of that lot will go in come the first review in a couple of months.

And as for Plunkett, the Ladder was written pre-India, so at that point it looked like he was a first-choice. :)

How can Ed Joyce be on top for Ireland, when he's now an England player?

Ed Joyce is still eligable to play for Ireland until he plays a Test or ODI for England. But if you guys really want you can throw in Irish U19 player at Gary Wilson at 30 and push everyone up

I remember an atricle saying that O'Brien still wants to play for Ireland, but may not play any C&G or InterCont. Matches

I think it was a 6 or 12 month ban, so by the time the World Cup starts he can play again. But by that time i think a few young Scot seamers would have jumped ahead of him, but he would still be in the top 30 players.

IIRC the rule regarding Joyce is something like you can play in competetions which don't involve other full member countries but if you play in a tournament which involves a full member then you would have to start your qualification period again.

Not that bad, adhar, but i would put Kumble ahead of Chawla, actually. And while I admit Pathan is good, if he keeps losing pace the way he has. Im a bit shaky on him being so high. Apart from these points, I thnk its pretty darn good.

I just don't think the selectors will revert to a 36-year-old amidst this whole youth movement. Here's my guideline for players over 30 years of age:
a) regular (dravid, tendulkar) -> certain selections, still performing well
b) long-time regulars (kumble, ganguly, laxman) -> decent chance, only after the top young options
c) tried fringe players (sriram, badani, mongia, yadav) -> very slim chance
d) untried fringe players -> forget it

That's why I completely ignored Yadav and more so Bangar. If the selectors weren't looking to youth so much, I would've included Yadav. Instead, I've put Pravin Kumar rather high.

As for Pathan, we should accept that he's a 80 mph bowler who gets loads of wickets with swing, accuracy and variation. In tests he needs to stay at 80 mph instead of straying to the 70s. I'm quite confident he'll be our strike bowler for years to come, at least in ODIs. He needs to work on his test bowling because Munaf and Sreesanth are already looking better than him in that arena.

It's a blip. A rather large, extended blip. One day, someone's going to work out why he can get so many International wickets and fix it.

Every cricketer is a blip. A rather large, extended blip. Only the great ones don't manage to get worked out.

On a serious note ... are you seriously that dismissive of a gifted swing bowler like IKP.
Surely he needs to stop losing pace, but he's shown that even at 80 mph he can be more than potent.
