It was back to the mundanity of the National league and a trip to Derby. The small crowd were privy to a decent proffessional performance from the visitors, though nothing special. The home side struggled to maintain any sort of run rate and they're batsmen, while getting in, struggled when they tried to hit out. Chapman's 3-36 was the best performance, though Cloete bowled well for 2-35. Norris top scored for Derbys with 433 as they posted 196-9.

The Web seemed not to have learned the lessons from the Derbys innings as the top 4 went all looking to smash the bowlers out of the park. At 34-4 any other team might have capitulated but Man of the Match Cloete and Tarick Weber combined for a 141 run stand as both hit half centuries, though both were dissapointed to be dismissed late on, they had done their job. CW won by 4 wickets.

Contract Disputes Resolived - Cricket to Resume
Breaking news from Lords where the FCC forum has announced that the pay dispute which has long halted the professional game in the UK has now been resolved and the season can now continue where it left off.

The Web Drew with Notts
The Web's first match back was a hard fought draw at home to Nottinghamshire. Very Dissapointed not to complete the win after dominating the match but Notts hung on on the last evening. Full batting points were secured (just) thanks to Mork's 158 and 50's from Nichani and Gray. Then Chapman took 6-88 but Notts managed to get to 312 to leave a lead of only 88. With time running out wickets were sacrificed in the second innings, the total of 165 all out coming from 28.2 overs. Halsey's 38 from 26 the main contribution. That meant just 60 overs to bowl Notts out, but it very nearly happened. The outlaws obviously scented a win, needing 254, but from 148-2, they collapsed to 208-8, whereupon they decided to play for the draw and Randall's 9 from 31 secured it. Halsey picked up 5-63, but Mork secured the MOM.

The Web 272-5 beat Lancashire 206 by 66 runs

A fantastic performance by the boys in gray - sound foundations laid by the top order cleared the way for a late assault which boosted an already good score to an excellent one. Blewy, Hoy and Weber all registered half centuries but it was the power of Gray (29* from 15) and Kearsley (14* from 6) which topped of the innings in style.

In reply, Lancashire began well and Nath and Camps had a hard time, but it was the man Kearsley who turned the game yet again, his first over went for 16 but his second was a double wicket maiden and he went on to take 4-46. Halsey was the most economical and registered 2-25 from 6.1. The teams fielding was also superb with 2 runouts in the innings and not a catch dropped.
