Cricket Web chooses the worst test pace bowler ever

Rubel is basically the Bradman of this question -- so obviously the answer that including him renders the exercise less interesting than it otherwise would be.

I guess Mohammad Manjural Islam is possibly the answer. Left arm seamer. In 17 tests took only 28 wickets at 57.32. Striking once every 106 balls.

What compounds this is the fact he averaged 3.68 with the bat only contributing 81 runs in the 17 tests and only four catches.

I just noticed Rubel averages 80 with the ball... lmao. Looks like it’s a no contest. Islam’s stats are pretty horrendous though considering the low ball batting average and lack of catches

Yeah averaging 80 with the ball in 26 Tests as a specialist bowler is a truly astonishing kind of bad. The best part is that even though have Bangladesh have significantly improved over the course of his career, he's actually still in the mix -- he played a Test only last month.

I don’t know about you, but I’d be disappointed if I averaged that much with the ball myself 26 tests. These guys get to practice a lot and have decent fielders.

He’s wayward and creates no pressure. No movement. I expected his average to be about 50, surprised it’s that high (80) when he keeps getting picked. Econ nearly four too. Selectors have a lot to answer for

Have seen delivering one of the best pace bowling spells by a Sri Lankan. He clean bowled Tendulkar who was on a century and then removed Azhar, and some other player in a hurry. Beautiful reverse swing bowling on one of the flattest tracks. Other than for it he was not up to the mark.

Charitha Buddhika, ASA Perera, Eric Upashantha, Chamila Gamage, Hasantha Fernando are much more ****tier than him.

Give the Chadd another 5-10 Tests and when he comes out averaging 85 (which he probably will unless he plays purely on greentops and Adelaide day-night Tests) then we can talk about him in this thread

I feel nauseous thinking about him trying to bowl in the UAE
