County Championship games could be reduced under ECB plans

Should there be a county championship American style:

Say 9 regular games
3 sth groups of 3
3 nth groups of 3
Q
S
F

12 games tops.

IMO its garbage. You cant just park One day matches at the start of the year and tell county members that less games is better but dont worry as an alternative to the 100 you can watch meaningless regional games its for the birds.

1 Division of 6. I like but it needs an expanded 50 over, 20 over to compliant it and to ditch the 100

Unfortunately as much as people, myself included, talk about scrapping the Hundred it just isn’t going to happen and therefore will inevitably be included in any scheduling, there’s no way around it.

With the unwavering desire and need from the ECB for it to succeed, the performance review group already have their hands tied to an extent. A key part of the season was always going to be ruled out to accommodate the tournament.

One way to fix the Hundred is to speed it up. It shouldn't take more than two weeks to play. Teams can play in consecutive days or with one day off, max. Sky and the BBC still get to televise a game a day if they want. I'd personally reduce it to six teams anyway and pool them from three counties apiece.

Two blocks of five CC games is fair enough if you have three groups of six but with a fairer system of promotion and relegation so it's not a closed shop.

Blast should still be prioritised to some extent for the counties. Streamlining the RLC50 would be reasonable enough. Again, six teams in three groups apiece. Minimum of five games and the better sides get through to knockouts.

Or get rid of it. Its not needed its pointless & not played anywhere else. 3 formats is fine we did not need a 4th
