Yeah, but those 300 wickets came @38 against no minnows....One of only 3 players in history with 4,000 runs and 300 wickets (along with Kapil and Botham).
Economical bowler, rather than strike bowler.Yeah, but those 300 wickets came @38 against no minnows....
J R Reid - 41Where do you put John R Reid, Oram, and De Grandhomme?
How come Reid and Grandhomme be better all rounder than Vettori?J R Reid - 41
De Grandhomme - 46
Oram missed out on the Top 50.
Reid was a much better batsman and a good 5th bowler.@ca

Spin bowling in NZ is a hard job remember and despite being a spin A/R if a player has played 100+ tests, that huge. Grandhomme played what? 29 tests?Reid was a much better batsman and a good 5th bowler.
Grandhomme is not a better player than Vettori though he actually did quite well in the Tests he played...... I might be a bit too mean on Vettori. Last time I made a Top 60 was like 6 months ago. Might need to re-evaluate it a bit. Though I don't think Vettori will break into the Top 40 which I made 2 days ago.
After the 25:
Mushtaq Mohammad
Jack Gregory
Andrew Flintoff
Alan Davidson
Ravichandran Ashwin
Frank Worrell
Richie Benaud
Bob Simpson
Allan Steel
Brian McMillan
Trevor Bailey
George Hirst
Learie Constantine
Basil D'Oliveira
Jason Holder
I actually agree to that. Yep, Vettori should be ahead of de Grandhomme.Spin bowling in NZ is a hard job remember and despite being a spin A/R if a player has played 100+ tests, that huge. Grandhomme played what? 29 tests?
What will you do with economy in a test match?Economical bowler, rather than strike bowler.
Keep the runs down/bowl dry while strike bowlers rest or wait for the new ball. Also bowl into the wind etc. so faster bowlers bowl downwindWhat will you do with economy in a test match?
His economy wasn't that great considering the era he played in. 2.91 vs AUS, 2.75 vs SA is not bad, but still mediocre for an economical bowler.Keep the runs down/bowl dry while strike bowlers rest or wait for the new ball. Also bowl into the wind etc. so faster bowlers bowl downwind
Or keep bowling dots to someone who is trying to slog with the no 11 and let your partner take the final wicket
Lower inflation. What will you do with economy in a test match?
