How come Reid and Grandhomme be better all rounder than Vettori?
Reid was a much better batsman and a good 5th bowler.
Grandhomme is not a better player than Vettori though he actually did quite well in the Tests he played...... I might be a bit too mean on Vettori. Last time I made a Top 60 was like 6 months ago. Might need to re-evaluate it a bit. Though I don't think Vettori will break into the Top 40 which I made 2 days ago.

After the 25:

Mushtaq Mohammad
Jack Gregory
Andrew Flintoff
Alan Davidson
Ravichandran Ashwin
Frank Worrell
Richie Benaud
Bob Simpson
Allan Steel
Brian McMillan
Trevor Bailey
George Hirst
Learie Constantine
Basil D'Oliveira
Jason Holder

Spin bowling in NZ is a hard job remember and despite being a spin A/R if a player has played 100+ tests, that huge. Grandhomme played what? 29 tests?

Hazelwood has been lucky compared to Starc that he played most of the games in conditions where it looked that he will be effective, hence ensuring his stats are good. He played mostly in Aus, Eng and NZ.

De Grandhomme averaged 38.7 and 33, while Oram averaged 36.3 and 33.

In my opinion both were a lot better than Jason Holder

As well as being a decent 4th seamer
Oram's 3 overseas 100s were

133 at Centurion vs Steyn, Pollock, Ntini, and Kallis

126* at the Gabba vs McGrath, Gillespie, Kaspa, & Warne

and

101 at Lord's vs Anderson, Broad, and Sidebottom (plus Panesar & Collingwood)

What will you do with economy in a test match?
Keep the runs down/bowl dry while strike bowlers rest or wait for the new ball. Also bowl into the wind etc. so faster bowlers bowl downwind

Or keep bowling dots to someone who is trying to slog with the no 11 and let your partner take the final wicket

His economy wasn't that great considering the era he played in. 2.91 vs AUS, 2.75 vs SA is not bad, but still mediocre for an economical bowler.
