Botham is a level ahead as a batter so it's not close.

He bore the pressure of being a top six batter his entire career.

He had a higher peak rating.

Way more tons. Way more batting series of substances.

I'll go close. Botham is better, subz rightfully pointing that out. Close because Jadeja actually has been consistent for quite a while, had a big series just now. Avg wise he's doing well, and done really well quite often on rank turners in India, rescuing India multiple times.
But yeah Beefy's better.

I think Jadeja will end up close as he seems in great form.

Yes, and on most of the times he would have added fairly more runs as well. Like all 4 this Series for eg. Or will you say we should use RPI for everyone now?
Or he could have got out for 20.

I use RPI mostly for bats where there is a higher percentage of NOs to distort an average.

If you add a very unreasonable 20 more runs to all his innings, and count them as completed, his avg turns 34.26, still clear of Botham. Counting NOs as completed innings is simply Wrong.

The very reason no one says Border is a mid 40s batsman.

The point is we don't know how long they would have batted more hence surfeit NOs functioning become bonuses by not being deducted.

Border gets rated behind other ATGs precisely because he batter down the order and NOs are tied to that.

Yes, that's why I added 500 runs for 25 not outs, which is waaaaay less. Pretending they don't exist is equally bad as well.

Yes, but it's still higher than people with more RPI like even Kohli. And I have at 15th, so these people are wrong anyways.

You don't need to speculate. His NOs give him a 7 point difference between RPI and average and we know this is an outlier and hence for him, average doesn't need to be taken at face value. That's it.

I never said minor differences in RPI for regular bats are a game changer.
