Two of the highest scoring serieses from Indian bats away from home. Gavaskar made 774 runs in 8 innings and averaged 154, making 4 hundreds. Shubhman Gill in England has made 722 runs in 8 innings, averaging 90 and have made 4 hundreds. It's very likely he'll go past Gavaskar, 4 matches vs 5 matches, he has another left for the Oval but after an equal amount of innings, who did better?

On result fronts, even if India draws this Series it can't nearly be as impressive as winning the first away series not in NZ
grant you that. It’s hard to go past Gavaskar (who I probably dislike the way you dislike Gill). No one is writing a calypso about Gill.

Tbf my dislike for Gill is largely irrational while you have enough reasons to not like Gavaskar
