All four of these teams are exciting to watch, yet have major flaws. SA and NZ have achieved the most, but which is the best?

England because of their style of play you can never count them out and are so intimidating..

Bazball only weakness seems to be on spinning tracks

And against nasty express pace. Will O'Rourke 8 overs, 3 for 33 in the 3rd test last year doesn't look like much, but it was brutal. Their players couldn't get behind the ball. In the Ashes Australia should get someone faster and nastier than Hazelwood/Boland to attack on a hard length. Bully the bullies.

It's still India for me in terms of talent , but Gambhir does not seem to know how to get the best out of his players in Tests

Bavuma is not a better player than Stokes.
Of course he is.
He is averaging 57 as captain.
Since the start of 2021 he has averaged 49.77, while Stokes has averaged 31.37.
Also as captain, Bavuma has 9 wins and 1 draw from 10 tests.

Daryl Mitchell is also better than Stokes, but can't look past Bavuma's captaincy record.

I didn't know we were cutting careers down to comvineant portions and comparing Bavuma's peak to Stokes's post-COVID decline, my bad

How do you quantify that
Dragging up a dead in the water South African test side that was at their lowest point in almost 30 years to winning the WTC is pretty quantifiable. Certainly more so than “saving test cricket”. I don’t often hear this mentioned much either when it comes to captaincy, but I do believe a large part of it is leading from the front. Stokes has also somewhat done this, but Bavuma has stepped up and shouldered a huge load - and lets not forget his batting in the final where he could barely walk - and performed brilliantly.

Agreed that Bavuma is a great captain but saving Test Cricket isn't Stokes' duty
