Probably Dale Bekenstein but he wasn't good enough to make the side as a batsman at the time.

Yeah, I wonder if there are different categories. Him, Mark Rushmere & HD Ackerman were touted as future captains from young but never got in the team consistently.

Jacques Rudolph was SA Schools Captain ahead of Graeme Smith.

Maybe Adrian Kuiper, Craig Matthews or Eric Simons who played a bit. Successful WP captains.

If we talking isolations years then obviously Eddie Barlow and Clive Rice
