Babar Azam Resigns as Captain all formats

International Vice-Captain
Masood is 34, averages 28 in test cricket and has one half century in his last 8 tests (a 54) , that's desolation from a Pakistan POV personified.
I am pretty sure he will resign after PAK tour of AUS.

Yeah I was shocked when I heard he'd been made Test captain given his awful batting record and his age.

He is probably just a temporary captain and will likely be sacked within 6-18 months.

Pakistan haven't had a great captain since Imran Khan, no coincidence they won their only ODI World Cup under his watch.

He led from the front coming in at first drop to smash a dashing 72 off just 110 balls to set up that win for them in the final.

Even by the standards of those days, it wasn't a "dashing" 72, and 110 balls was quite slow, but it had to be done to save the innings and get to a competitive total.

But yeah, unfortunately there hasn't been a great captain since. Wasim was probably the best of the rest we've had. Given he was Imran's blue eyed boy, he probably picked up some tricks of the trade.

I was being sarcastic when I said it was a dashing innings from Imran but it was a crucial innings to set up Pakistan's total in that final under pressure.

Wasim was a matchwinner in that final too with his bowling, a young star on the rise.
