Glad Mick Lewis isn't in there. We should get a full year out of him now
Griffith may have took wickets but is he really part of the long-term future?, i'm much happier seeing a good young bowler in hilfenaus who is in the long-term future in the sqaud that himchaminda_00 said:- Adam Griffith (48 wkts @ 25) leading wicket taker in the Pura Cup last season he missed out?
- Marcus North 712 runs @ 50, unlucky too
- Also i am surprised no one mentioned Mick '0/113' Lewis, surprised the Aussie selectors have forgot about him, same on the selectors.
you serious? he was absolutely awful to watch for Lancs last year.dontcloseyoureyes said:Marcus North is great to watch, he's one of my favourite domestic players.
Hmm how old is Dorey, if his a long term option then so is Griffith. Add to the fact that he has played for Australia A before, its funny how 2 to 3 years ago he was a long term option and now his a better bowler he no longer is.aussie said:Griffith may have took wickets but is he really part of the long-term future?, i'm much happier seeing a good young bowler in hilfenaus who is in the long-term future in the sqaud that him
North yea he is unlucky but he seems to have gone down the pecking order, i think Marsh is the most unlikiest batsman to miss out.
- as with Griffith Lewis is not in the long-term future..
Considering Rogers is a specialist opener and there are only a few middle order batsmen in the squad, I doubt it.andyc said:Wouldn't it make sense to open with Cosgrove and Jaques? Granted Cossy doesn't open in FC games (I think), but he's had some experience there in one dayers at least.
Edit: He's opening for Glamorgan right now, so I guess he and Jaques would do it.
wouldnt have thought so, but im not 100%sure of therules. hodge is our only overseas player atm, so symonds wouldnt be a replacement. hed just be our second overseasmarc71178 said:Won't Symonds only be able to play while Hodge is on 'A' duty though?
well i'm assuming since Dorey has played on the international stage the selectors want to see more of him that Griffith even if he took many wickets in the pura cup & is a similar age to him. Plus they are similar type bowlers, so they probably didn't want 2 of the same.chaminda_00 said:Hmm how old is Dorey, if his a long term option then so is Griffith. with his bowling he hasn't but his batting he has..Nnanden said:Why? Hopes has shown at least some promise with his bowling and batting on the International stage.
There not really the same type of bowler, Griffith isn't really a out and out swing bowler and can bowl at over 130 km/h.aussie said:well i'm assuming since Dorey has played on the international stage the selectors want to see more of him that Griffith even if he took many wickets in the pura cup & is a similar age to him.
