Argh. Struggling to toss up who to go for with my balance.

I think I'll go for another spinner, mainly just for a bit of nationality variety, otherwise I'd have been picking another Zimbabwean, and there probably are enough seam up options in my line-up.

Mohammad Nabi.

Hopefully the contrasting bowling styles of Allan and Nabi will be of some benefit.

I'll definitely be making it a heavy spinning wicket when Cribb gets to simming it.

BFP up.

Tim Murtagh. Surprised he's still available tbh, had completely forgotten about him until I checked the scorecard for the Ireland/Sri Lanka game.

500 FC wickets at 27 will go nicely in my bowling attack.

Ha. He's an absolute steal for this round. Guess I never think of him as Irish, so I never thought of him.

Freddo x 2 now.

Can't do a draft and end up picking only one Lancashire player so Soren Henriksen comes in to beef up my pace attack - he didn't make the most of his limited opportunities in the county game but has a mightily impressive record elsewhere, and wasn't a negligible bat either

Number 11 is the greatest off-spinner Sri Lanks has ever produced - he averaged 5 runs a wicket over his career in senior cricket and is the only man from his country who ever dismissed WG Grace

'he averaged 5 runs a wicket over his career' - that' s a very tidy number for an offie!

Just the same, I think that Murali might have a different view on the 'greatest off-spinner' tag though.

So do I tbh, but at least one Sri Lankan writer thinks otherwise a view, for the purposes of this thread, suits me fine :)

Incidently, Tommy Kelaart bowled left-arm fast medium; so you must be meaning WT Kelaart, Tommy's dad. I'll shut up now.

They were indeed both Tommy, and I can't reconcile the cricinfo entry with the Sri Lankan article that I now can't find, but he certainly did dismiss WG - there is a little booklet about Tommy snr available that was published back in 1910, and although I am a very sad man even I'm not going to shell out £750 for the only copy I am aware is currently available - just goes to show that a properly researched history of Sri Lanka cricket is long overdue

Is this it?

Who is Sri Lanka`s greatest ever off spinner? - Sri Lanka

Probably not where you saw it, but it seems to include all the details you know about him so it might be the article itself.

Ravindu Shah my last pick. Scored big runs against Pakistan A in 2004 (a century and a double ton) opening the batting. Not just making hay in the Intercontinental Cup. I need an opener, so in he goes.
