The thing is India's spin attack isn't that much better than Pakistan's, but Pakistan's pace attack is far far superior to India's!

If you play Gupte Bedi and Prasanna, you have an attack for the Gods. I dont see how you say this,

Yes Pakistan has more depth in pace attack than India but Indias spinners are absolute match winners. I suppose it will depend on where they play

Sorry Marc. There is a misunderstanding. I had given my suggested changes in the Indian side and then was commented on the merits of the two sides after the changes.

Bedi is better than Qadir, I agree but Kumble...I am not so sure.

Mushtaq is less accurate and has less variety as compared to Qadir. Qadir's wrong ones and top spinners were also more difficult to spot.

I'm puzzled as to why Chandrasekhar has not been mentioned so far. I'd pick him over Prasanna any day of the week.

The thing that bothers me about that batting order, though, is that it's far too stodgy. You only need halfway conducive conditions for the Pak quicks for India to be 155 all out. Much though it pains me to say it, Dravid has overtaken Hazare and has to replace him at 3, and you need a more enterprising guy at 5. My choice would be CK Nayudu, though you could make a good case for Umrigar, Viswanath or Tiger Pataudi, which would then give the side the kind of captain it would need, since none of the ex-captains in your side did any actual good as skipper.
