what is stupider is
A) Chahal seemed to regain form in the IPL but the squad was already announced and they didn't want to change it
B) Kuldeep got cut from white-ball squads but apparently was the next big prospect for the Test team, only for Axar Patel to leapfrog him, leaving Kuldeep out in the wilderness with no clear career trajectory.
Their lack of batting was an issue in ODIs, but less so in T20s where you really don't need batting past 8 anyways. Our seamer can't really bat either tho, forcing the selection of Bhuvi into white ball teams, which is unfortunately his weaker format but also seemingly the only format his body can handle. We do have Deepak Chahar who was decent in his few India appearances but he's nowhere to be seen. No idea if that's because he had a poor IPL or because the selectors were just being dumb.
Don't get why Shami is in the T20I side either tbh, surely we have other quicks better suited to the format. Pandya in as a specialist bat is interesting too.
