Very disappointed with our second innings batting effort. And should have made more of the starts in the 1st innings.

Entering into my first game in charge of Rotterdam i see that we're not favourably placed in either table (6th and 7th) and that i have a job to do.

Despite a bat heavy line-up (7-4 included two wk's who i thought could bat) a rather paltry effort got us to 153 all out. Top scorer....one of our bowlers  Callan ripped through our last four where Limerick's other bowlers couldn't.

Was pleased to see that Limerick only managed 10 more runs than us. Jowell going for about 3 and a half an over took 4 wickets. Pretty good bowling performance all in all.

Needing to set at least 170 we fell short falling to 150. Nisar being dismissed only 5 short of a 50. Parry's 4/14 from 7 took the fight from us.

Our bowlers then handed the game over, 2 out of the 3 going for 5 an over despite taking a few wickets.

Overall it is clear just by looking at the league tables. With only 2 batting points, severe work must be done in this area if we are to get anywhere before the end of the season. 2nd place in terms of bowling points in the Division shows that our bowling on the whole is good and that our Batsmen need to back them up with runs.

Go Casey and Bloom, thats the way to smack those Nambians.

Hey Jason i was wondering if i could get the stats for my team, so it is easier to pick my side. I have the past scorecards but there is a different team playing each week so it hard to keep track of whos performed and who wasn't.

I'm sorry but I won't be able to. I'm flat out getting ready for a week away with work.

Really appreciate the time you're putting in Argonaut :) Will have to buy you a beer someday!

new_age_ar: About 2 weeks ago I got the calculator out and created a new excel file (2 actually, one for one day one for four day). I put all my team into it, and created columns for each round, and entered their scores into it, if they were not out, if they took wickets, etc. Then using the calculator I worked out the averages on totals and have a fair idea of who's doing what. It takes a bit of time for one person to do, so maybe it's one of those responsabilities that managers should take aboard to take the weight off the simmers?

Just a thought...

Good alround effort from the boys, didn't let them run away with it, Kept them down to a easy total, and didn't lose our heads chasing in the second innings...very pleased.
