A big debate back in the day- could Tendulkar play under pressure

I'm a big big fan of Tendulkar and he is one of the greatest batsman ever.

I personally think he could play under pressure and anyone having a career that long will have some failures.

On another forum, their were a big debate back 2005-2008 on this topic.

These are some of the innings:

Tendulkar eden gardens 2001

Vital test against WI 2001

Second test Vs NZ in NZ 2002

Tendulkar third test Vs Australia 2004

Afridi dismissed him 2005 test final inns

Eng 2006 final innings in India test

Asif bowled him in Pak vital test where Yuvraj scored a hundred final inns

Cape town 2006 third innings (scored first innings

Sydney 2008 4th (scored first innings)

Where opposition won and series still alive

He had played some amazing knocks:

-169 Vs Donald in SA, 54-5
-116 Vs McGrath, Warne, Lee 99
-136 Vs Wasim, Waqur 99
-145 Vs Steyn
-100 Vs Eng chasing 380
-his hundred third test Vs Aus 2001
-155 Vs Warne

Saving the match at Old Trafford
First century at Perth
Headlingley 2002
Australia series in 2008

when youve had a career that long, you will have a lot of flops but yes he could play under pressure

Regularly gassed up in important ODIs while making hay in the Sharjah Who Gives a **** Cup every year. Made lots of runs at test level though. I wouldn't say he was anywhere near as much a choker in tests as in ODIs overall.

He wasn't a VVS under pressure, but I think him under pressure is certainly overhated by some Indian fans
It's been ages since I've seen that scorecard. Why was Prasad so underbowled in the 2nd inning? I guess maybe he wasn't expected to make an impact and then surprisingly cleaned up the tail in his 2nd spell. I do recall there being plenty of movement on offer for pacers. Just seems odd.

I had heard about this match, especially Sachin's brilliance with a struggling back; many a time from my father. But sadly, this match happened a fair few years before I was born; so I really can't comment on the nitty gritties.
