5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

Molehill

International Coach
I mean Jadeja did score over 500 runs in the series. Given how high scoring this series was it's nowhere near the equal of other 500-run series in history but still.
I was comparing the stats with the BGT. Only one player (Head) averaged over 50 there and only Jaiswal over 40 too. Here there are 8 over 50 plus another 3 over 40. Just completely different pitches.

Missed all of it after Brook-Root made things look inevitable yesterday afternoon. Couldn't stand the heartburn that set in with that Siraj catch. Woke up 30 mins shy of lunchtime in Eng, made a very conscious effort to not check phone for at least 10 mins. Finally did expecting the expected and squealed like an absolute schoolgirl. Salutes to those who braved it all. You guys are heroes.

Damn Miya bhai saving Gambhir his job

Was at work but this was a miraculous comeback. Probably one of the greatest test victories ever given the position we were in.

Hats off to Siraj and deserved man of the match.

On a sidenote, Stokes ran himself to the ground only to draw the series... Would not want to see a similar situation down under. I think he needs to be smarter with when he chooses to bowl.

I mean, in this series he had to do that because for long stretches he looked the only guy capable of taking wickets.

Whatever it takes!!!
India has developed some proper resolve in its cricket. Started under Kohli and Shastri. They keep coming at you even when they’re down on troops and matches or series seem lost. I think that’s what made the home loss to NZ so weird - they just rolled over, and for the last 8-10 years that’s just not something they’ve done really
Just shows that side was running on fumes, I guess. For whatever reasons. 3 of them retire and then we see this, lol.

What is bazball's greatest achievement? 3 zip win in Pakistan?
Yeah probably that one.

The 3-0 home win against NZ in the original Bazball series was a great result too considering NZ were Test champions at the time and England were at such a low point coming into it. Geat matches that series too.

Winning away in NZ is also something we hadn't done in years prior to the current regime.

it's gonna be annoying when Jamie Smith scores runs during the Ashes, knowing he played one of the stupidest innings of all time only months earlier
Yeah expect him and Crawley and Brook to make some good runs down there. If England stay pragmatic than arrogant, I actually think they will have a chance. They are assembling decent bowling line up for Aus minus the spinner.

Archer / Tongue
Atkinson
Carse
Stokes

is a decent attack.

I don't think Carse will do well at all tbh. The archetype of the bowler who touring teams think will do in Aus but rarely does (because they bowl too short). They'd be better off picking a good, skiddy swing-and-seam bowler, those kinds of bowlers have done well in Aus of late.
