5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

It's like the last test of a long tour where we've been mentally ground down, only we supposedly have fresh bowlers and it's at ****ing home.

I can't think of a bigger own goal than the Overton selection in recent times, and it's coupled with dropping our only front-line spinner after he couldn't win us a game on the flattest pitch I've seen here in years.

Then there's the drops. Doesn't bode well for Australia.
[/QUOTEAssuming everyone is fit an attack out of Stokes/Wood/Archer/AtkinsonCarse? sill improve things in Aus

This attack won't be particularly similar to what rocks up in Perth tbf (or at least one desperately hopes so) but if you take the talk about intimidation and psychological edge seriously then it's hard to imagine Aus being particularly concerned about what they've seen here, on the deck that's probably the most similar to what they'll face in November.

This is hilarious, I hope he gets to a hundred purely through edges through a third man which, increasingly infuriatingly, remains vacant

It's a big if though. How often are Wood, Archer and Stokes available to bowl?

And it's more the mental fragility on display ever since looking like we should dominate the rest of the series that's the concern though.
