3rd Test at the SCG, Sydney, 7 Jan - 11 Jan 2021

The pace of this innings... They are going to be facing the second new ball with well under 200 runs on the board.

The bowling has been tight as always from Australia, but they need to move.

The problem is that Starc hasn't been bowling pies so there's really no scoring shots available.

india seem to be following the nz game plan last summer (who probably themselves followed the pujara game plan) except sort of successfully.

feels a little bit like overthinking. always thought people do best in aus when they just bat their normal way.

Hazlewood has really upped his game in the last two years. Was a period around 2017/18 where he was bowling a lot of balls on the hip. But he's managed to mostly get rid of that from his game and it's improved his bowling greatly.

Junior is always gunning for Pujara. Every test it is the same he bats too slow diatribe. Pujara has been playing test cricket for 10+ years and is nearly 33, he ain’t going to change now. India had two stroke making openers and they have guys who can play expansive still to come.

He wasn't always like this tbf. Runs used to flow once he got set. His knock in SA in the partnership with Kohli is a great example.

Starc is very much a less extreme version of Johnson. They'll end their careers with very similar statistics. Their MO is very similar. Johnson had a higher ceiling but would be far worse at his worst. Starc doesn't run through sides like Johnson did though. But they'll end up looking very similar on paper.
