Can't blame Karun too much. As Bumrah said, in India they're used to playing on nice flat grounds, not slopey grounds with a million pitches on it.

This has been a ****ing awful Test in the field for us tho. So many dropped and missed catches

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
It's an era where games (especially in NZ/SA/Eng) either finish in 3 days or flatten out into total roads by the fourth innings. It's an odd set of conditions that didn't exist to the same extent in the last few decades. Not a coincidence Cummins has had his share of games where he's had to watch the other team chase down big totals vs Australia too.
Still there is scoreboard pressure.

SA managed two tricky chases in 2021 when he was below par and Eng also chased then as well.
