*Official* New Zealand domestic season 2022/23

Right now...I think he deserves more than anyone to be slotted into the middle order if there was a spot. Has had more than couple of years of very good first class stats. I think he should probably be ahead of Phillips, Chapman, Ravindra or Foxcroft. As much as I'm for the youth I think Cole...

Yup I hate seeing Lockie wasted in a domestic game when he could easily be playing for black caps. That's such a waste

Should Teenage International Cricketers be Allowed?

Gary Stead's take will unless you have a teenage kid you shouldn't make the national side

Yeah what a shame really.... I thought he'd be captaining the red ball team too this year but he has lost form quite evidently. I'm sure he's better than what the scores show but hasn't got going in the A side or for his club. I do think they should have carried on playing him. Batting is such a...

Dale Phillips over run GP to take a terrific catch. So the younger Phillips is quicker than the older, that's saying something.

*Official* Sri Lanka in New Zealand 2022/23

D Karunaratne, Chandimal, and Mathews are a very good watch for sure. Our bowling is not the same as in the past so there may be phases when SL may dominate with the bat. That said don't think they have a chance with their bowling against our in form batsman. At best they could draw a game but...

Santner is bowling much slower and has a lovely dip going I see. It does make a difference when you are out of the side I guess. You get time to work on your skills and also try few things out without the pressure of massive viewers/commentators.

The good old jolly fella Billy sent our firebirds openers packing with a good spell I think :p Rachin's was definitely off the thigh pad it looks like but highly likely Gerogeson's was probably not hitting the bat as well. Damn.... I thought it would be a good chase considering Aces declared...

I'd think so too... it does help he's from Canterbury. I'm not saying that because of Stead but the academy is over there so obviously they would have seen him lots more of him than some of the players from other regions. He even made the NZ A red ball team over Cooper with not such a good red...

Macewell will be there, he's not a topic of interest anymore. Is he one of the better spin bowlers, definitely not. There are others. Is he a reasonable batsman? I'd think so. He's definitely better than Santner, Ajaz and Sodhi with the bat. Same story all over right, playing players in the...

What I was trying to mean was Fletcher was a gun coach, he knew who would win them games and didn't mind taking a punt with newbies. I left out KP from the list above but he was preferred over Graham Thrope. That was one tough call to make considering Thrope was a leading batsman in the world at...

*Official* Sri Lanka in New Zealand 2022/23

I can't get up to watching this series. Maybe glance at the scores once a day perhaps. Unless SL play out of their skins and make it super competitive. Kane and Devon always a good watch. Blundell will be good to watch too. Bowling wise, none really. Southee will be good but at the stage he is...

When you lose your captain's confidence in you it is a very hard task bowling. A couple of big hits and you know you'll be taken off. I can't see how he is going to be back in the squad. He has gone down the pecking order and likely to be 3rd spinner picked. Heck Sodhi did so well but he can't...

Just had a look at the scores and it really breaks my heart to see Ajaz getting smashed around. He has won many games for black caps and the way he has been treated sure enough he would have totally lost confidence. He's not bowling badly but just that barely given a go after a stellar India...

Yup Bracewell is here to stay till he retires. I'm not saying that in a bad way but like you pointed out there are plenty of sub continent cricket coming up and he will be one of the first on the list unless he gets smashed by Sri Lanka and Stead leaves in a jiff. Both are not possible...

Knew it, just had a look and it had to be Solia. From memory the bowlers from Aces he would have got out to are Solia, Ter Baak, McEwan. All you have to do with Rachin is bring on your 4th or 5th choice seamer and he'll invariably get out. That to be fair was a reasonable ball from Solia, he may...

Gareth Severin looked very good and a composed lad. Still quite young I'd think and he looks like someone that will play for a long time. Definitely not a stop gap for Wellington. So glad to see the youngsters given a go. Firebirds may not win much but they are slowly and surely building good...

Probably all of them in couple of years time. Our batting cupboard is quite bare at the moment. Barring Phillips, Ravindra, Foxcroft don't see much coming our way. I shudder to think how we will look in 5 years time. Everyone of the above will get a go in my opinion. Popli is not in the list...

He did score a hundred in county cricket in the winter. A PS hundred likely 3 years ago? GP has changed the technique again. This time around the bat is grounded at the release like Martin Crowe or any of the players from the 80s. Wonder what made him change that? He will be better off the front...

Wooo hooo... long time coming. To be fair he's got some lovely dip going it feels like. His batting has gone through the roof. I've barely seen him fail with the bat since like a year. Chances of a comeback to test cricket? I wouldn't write him off, he could be handy.
