    comical occurrences in club cricket

I played in the game mentioned early on in this peice SunLive - Greerton and Cadets to meet - The Bay's News First I happened to be one of the "Greerton Top 3 removed for ducks". Trent finished the game with 8-38, but hit the stumps on at least 15 odd occasions, of the 38 I'd guess a good...

    Best ever Associate bowler

I've been lucky enough to play against both Van Meekeren and Kingma. PVM probably a bit quicker (This was 4-5 years ago) than Kingma, but Viv swung the ball away from the right hander also at handy pace. Played one game of club cricket opening the batting against Trent Boult at one end and Viv...

And if we are actually talking about Sean O'Connor as a borderline first class spinner.... P.S Bharat Popli making his way to a 3rd first class hundred in 4 games.

Given Wellington's lack of top order batsmen, I've heard a few whispers of a couple of young/youngish ND Opening Bats moving down those ways soon. But that is not the Wellington style.

Popli is in some kind of form at least at the first class level. His last 7 innings at FC Level have been; 91, 32, 33, 116, 68, 46, 133; 519 runs at better than 70 with two hundreds. If there is one thin Baz does it is score hundreds. I think he has 8 or 9 for BOP now.

Ole Howsie seems to have his finger on the pulse of ND Cricket. Any more young seamers or top order bats pushing through??

I hear through the grapevine that if no more play is had it will be a tie.

Damn, was selfishly hoping ND would lose out and miss the top 4. Still two games to go, but it is close in that bottom 3.

Anybody have a decent clip of Hampton's 4/30 yesterday, wouldn't mind having a gander if it's available.

If you are talking back right, it looks like Kane's brother.

I remember playing in a Form 2 Tourney against him in Palmy. Cheeky fella tried to convince us he was an offie.

Carter just needs to start turning these starts into ton's and a big one every now and then. Hell of a start to the first class career though, 8 matches, 13 innings, averaging 48.5 with the bat. 5 times past 50 in 13 innings, but as of yet no hundreds.

Anybody know what the story with Karori Park was? Two and a half days lost to weather? Did they just call off the fourth because it was pointless?

Yeah, have played a fair bit against Joe over the past 2-3 years. Aside; Wellington NEVER bring through their young talent, stay put with old hacks without potential. Watch their younger players A] Quit the game B] Leave the Province or C] Rot in Club Cricket.

Brad Wilson has to get the flick soon right? Last 7 FC scores; 0, 33, 18, 15, 9, 6, 0; 81 Runs @ a shade over 11. Joe Carter at 3 has been a defacto opener all season long. Move him up a spot to open I'd back Popli or Mitchell at 3 then get Hampton or Hickey into that middle order.

They do. The above comment made firmly with tounge in cheek. That said I do think he has the talent, drive, patience and class to create a long first class career for himself at 4/5 in the ND order.

Seems like Otago A and Auckland A have better places to be; Otago A rolled for less than 50 in a T20 Game. Auckland A for less than 70.

Please tell me that there are people here that are concerned that three of the top 5 run scorers in the Plunket Shield this season are ex-Test players who were dropped because of their lack of quality at that level? Guptill, Flynn, Papps. Cast your eye down just a little further down the run...
