It's just embarrassing for everyone involved. Like what an embarrassment for the promoter. You can't market any of your own stars for a profit so you have to dig out an old man to sell your tickets. Just sad sad times for American boxing.

Also, can we put to sleep this idea that you have to brawl/bumrush Usyk to beat him? In what world does rushing a pro elite boxer work? The most success anyone has had against Usyk was when they boxed/counterpunched him e.g. Briedis, parts of the first Fury fight, parts of the AJ fight and...

What is this ****. Why another brit, particularly someone like Itauma who hasn't earned his shot. If he fights anyone, he needs to fight Kabayel or Parker. wilder if he wants a gimme fight so that he can say he beat all the champs of the last generation But I agree, he should retire. Nothing...

In other news Inoue is going to be fighting Akhmedaliev. I think this is a very very dangerous fight and I would put some money on Akhmedaliev by KO.

Yeah, Canelo hasn't been a top fighter for a long time now.

Hamzah has excellent power and a great jab. If you stand in front of someone like that you will get KOed. Completely different story fighting someone who can move their head.

Honestly it's more interesting than the Chisora 3 fight that they're talking about zzzzz. Parker needs a stay busy fight and a recognisable name like Allen makes sense for both guys. Would prefer someone like AJ or Whyte but whatever. Tbh though both Kabayel and Parker should recognize that...

The approach most refs take in that situation is to ask the boxer to walk towards them and show them their guard etc. That is what would have happened had Wardley been knocked down. Fair enough to call the fight then. But if a guy gets up well before the count then it's a relatively standard...

Most dangerous thing you can do is throw a single jab from close range. Every single jab Huni threw needed to be doubled and he pretty much lived by that until that final shot. 1 error and the fight ends. Bit of a dodgy count I felt mind you, but probably would have been knocked out regardless.

Akhmedaliev is very good IMO. Will be a tough fight for Inoue at this weight.

That's the way it is with all contenders though. He basically ended Tony Yoka's career, but then also had close fight with e.g. kuzman ( decent fighter imo). I'm not sold on Bakole but I don't think he's terrible. At the top level people lose fights.

I think Itauma would want to prove his gas tank before going for legite top fighters. That super athletic style can look very impressive but can get gassed after about 6 or so rounds if you're with someone able to withstand and also pressure you.

Fabio Wardley has proven me wrong many times over his career but I'm gonna give him another chance to prove me wrong by saying that he gets absolutely schooled and possibly stopped by Justis Huni. I think this fight is grossly mispriced by the bookies. Yes Wardley's power and natural fighting...

Aus and NZ local talent are able to exploit the ppv market either with crossover appeal (generally league stars) or by appealing to a particular market segment - e.g. Joseph Parker charged eyewatering prices for ppv and tickets fighting nobodies by appealing to the Samoan and South Auckland...

No "let that fight marinate" no "he needs to fight that guy" just straight to the best guys in the division and pure aggression. He's the best pure offensive boxer since Pacquiao. He's going to get KOed sooner or later when he either jumps up too much weight or he gets caught, and I'm sure...

I didn't watch the fight but I was bemused to see him talking about "if I had a full camp..." Errr, this fight was signed in january, this was not a late notice fight. He had plenty of time for a training camp. Why as a professional athlete paid now in the millions of dollars are you not in...

There is an enormous pool of exceptional UK boxing talent right now, throughout every division. And even without the top guys, there are the somewhat likeable triers who have taken their careers seriously and done reasonably well e.g. the Smith Brothers, Joe Joyce etc etc. Why in this era of...

I am really tired/bored of seeing fights decided on what weight limit and rehydration clause can be negotiated in the contract. I could not give the faintest crap about Connor Benn or Chris Eubank Jr. Just thought I'd pop in to say that. You're not watching fights. You're watching...

I still think he's a horrible guy to fight for anyone without elite one punch power. Losing to Hrgovic isn't a shameful thing. The big difference between last night and e.g. when he fought Parker and Dubois is that the feet are gone. He was always pretty slow but his footwork used to be pretty...

OK I had Hrgovic winning that easy, something like 8-2. Yes, he looked tired at times but he was still landing the more clean effective work through 80% of the rounds. As usual, UK commentators make an absolute meal of it.
