Imagine an attack of Wasim, Waqur, M Zahid, Saqlain/Akthar

As if any one cares about your opinion

Imagine an attack of Wasim, Waqur, M Zahid, Saqlain/Akthar

Nah, I was clearly talking about test matches. It was very clear. And in CW unless it is explicityly mentioned we talk about tests.

It is extremely likely this comes from a person who has no connection between spinal column and the cerebral cortex.

Imagine an attack of Wasim, Waqur, M Zahid, Saqlain/Akthar

Your memory is playing tricks on you. You need to get it checked by a trained professional. Razzaq and Mahmood only played a grand total of 4 test matches together.

The issue Pakistan had was the amount of crap up the order. They needed SAF style rescues by the all rounders.

Imagine an attack of Wasim, Waqur, M Zahid, Saqlain/Akthar

They rarely played Mahmood and Razzaq together. They tended to play one of them. These were not out and out fast bowlers to blow away sides or batsmen to score daddy hundreds. They were ones who needed time to develop. It was just identifying what they could do and giving them a long term role...

Imagine an attack of Wasim, Waqur, M Zahid, Saqlain/Akthar

They would have done better playing Wasim, Akthar, Mahmood, and Razzaq with Saqlain. Later Wasim would have given away to Asif. They could have loaded the team with batting, and five bowlers could have done wonders.

    Best 'bad fielders' XI

It is particularly odd that Tamil people had been in SAF for a century or more in large numbers. They must be used to pronunciation. Guyana however, had anglicized the name and made it easy. (Chandrapalan -> Chanderpaul, Nagamuttu -> Nagamootoo, Narayan -> Narine, etc)

    Bowling - Batting Counterparts

Viv basically matches with Imran. Great leaders, and with peaks where they destroyed everyone. Lara / Warne comparison is interesting, but Lara had far less drama.

Which type of players are hardest to find ?

Asanka Gurusinha was a keeper to start with. Then back troubles resulted him to give up keeping. Then he was hit the pitch hard fast medium bowler. He was 6' 2" and pretty massive unit. When he bowled he looked good. Managed to average 34 with the ball. His atrocious fitness record lead to more...

    Bowling - Batting Counterparts

Sachin aligned with Murali. Consistent, minimal drama, and gets the job done. Murali probably was tad more aggressive. Warne, probably with Sobers.

Which type of players are hardest to find ?

Dishan puts his hand up. So is Asanka Gurusinha.

Which type of players are hardest to find ?

Australia is not a good place to bowl spin. Even Warne averages 35 in the shield. If Hogg had his opportunities against England, SAF, NZ and WI the story could have been very different.

Which type of players are hardest to find ?

The two of the best Chinamen bowlers were unlucky. Hogg played in a time of Warne and MacGill. And Kuldeep plays in a time of Ashwin and Jadeja. These two are / were leaps and bounds better than Adams.

Which type of players are hardest to find ?

Flower is a batting wicket keeper. So is Sangakkara. In addition Quinton de Koch, Dinesh Chandimal, Rishabh Pant all are in this bracket, and pick ATG out of them. The list should have players like Healy, Russell, PJ, Bari, Latif, Kirmani, MSD or Engineer other than given above, to pick from.

Just how many "ATGs" are there in your mind?

Actually it should not. FC is FC. Test is Test. Two different beasts.

Just how many "ATGs" are there in your mind?

For Zimbabwe Andrew Flower For India, Gavaskar FFS SA: Donald and Pollock too. PAk: Waqar for sure. Lillee makes the list too.

Just how many "ATGs" are there in your mind?

Definitely Sanga and Flower are there. Better than Waugh and arguably better than Javed too. Rate Pollock in there as well. Both being keepers raises their chances. I'd argue Pollock was more instrumental for RSA victories than Kallis. Younis Khan also has a big say to the list. For England...
