*Official* 1st Test at the SWALEC Stadium

Sky last night were suggesting that he would play as a second spinner and move Stokes up the order as a batsman who bowls a little. Not sure who they advocated dropping but it didn't make sense to me.

    Limited Overs Rule Discussion

Give us reasoning why. You keep making statements about why this should happen or why that should happen but never give reasons why. Which rules should be adopted over all forms of the game then?

    Urgent Question

When I've been there for Tests there's always been a real ale bar. Reasonably priced as well from what I remember.

***Official*** Pakistan in Sri Lanka 2015

, This doesn't sit well with me. If it were one of my country's players picking and choosing like that I'd not be happy.

    Ultimate ATG thread

    Should've reviewed it then.

Almost nearly but not quite ATG XI discussion

Presumably all catches on the boundary since that's the only way that "attack" would take wickets.

That's a bit harsh to be fair.

    All-rounders with equal bowling/batting skill?

82 was probably the closest he came to it but even then he only scored a couple of fifties. That's not what you would call a massive batting workload. As for the other series, he batted 5 times in 6 games. How the **** is that a big batting workload?
  12. marc71178

    All-rounders with equal bowling/batting skill?

Yes, those averages tell you so much about how much of a workload he had don't they? Actually they don't because he didn't perform over a series as an all-rounder ever, when he had a lot of batting to do, he didn't take many wickets and vice versa.
  13. marc71178

    All-rounders with equal bowling/batting skill?

Yes, thanks for posting something that shows that when he scored runs and batted more he didn't bowl yet when he took lots of wickets his batting workload was significantly lower.

Lets settle this - will Shane Watson get selected for the first test?

Got to play IMO. He's on the verge of his breakout series.

    All-rounders with equal bowling/batting skill?

Which his team mates did when he was performing as a bowler...
  17. marc71178

    All-rounders with equal bowling/batting skill?

Yes, but only when batting once a match
  18. marc71178

    All-rounders with equal bowling/batting skill?

Nope, when he took a lot of wickets in a series he barely batted, when he scored a lot of runs, he barely bowled.
  19. marc71178

    All-rounders with equal bowling/batting skill?

Difference being that Botham actually performed with bat and ball at the same time. In spite of that 52/20 split, Imran never did.

Road to the 2015 Ashes in England

They can afford to bid more because the Welsh Assembly pay for/assist with funding for the bid. Should make it a rule that grounds build up to hosting a Test rather than only getting the big nations. Should also make a rule that makes The Oval be part of a rotation process rather than always...
