Road to the 2017-18 Ashes in Australia

One really good season followed by an average one does not equate to amazing form especially when the average one is the most recent one...

World Cup 2019 will be a huge bore-fest

Yes, which kind of negated the point about it rewarding success over the longer term.

World Cup 2019 will be a huge bore-fest

Except ironically the overall winners were exceedingly lucky and reliant on the weather to get out of the group and the dominant team in the group stage didn't make the final.

***Official*** West Indies Tour of the UK 2017

752 runs @ 53.71 this year striking at nearly 100 suggests that you set a very high bar to call someone "not poor".

Weren't the 6 consecutive centuries in the lower level South African system though (so more similar to Grade Cricket standard then first class cricket)

    Ireland to poach cricketers

Actually that depended on which side of the border they came from. For me I can see the counties not developing these players so readily if they're going to disappear as soon as they get good enough.

Road to the 2017-18 Ashes in Australia

The bloke doesn't average 40 playing 2nd division cricket. Maybe that might be the clue as to why he's not been picked?

    *Official* Tennis Thread

Random thing to throw into the mix about Murray, Djokovic etc. is that they're still going to lose points (in Murray's case a shitload) by the Australian Open. Based on the current points, Djokovic will be around 13 and Murray around 20 in the world when they return.
