ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier, UAE 2010

TBH, from where either Afghanistan, Ireland or Holland are, the difference between Eng, Ind, SA or WI are relatively small. Apart from that, I can imagine, when having the opportunity to play with the big guys, one rather plays with the really big guys!

Losing two wickets in the forst over is not helping...... But we do have a very good batting line-up. Given this is a B-team tourney, we have some strong batters AND some depth.

151 for Ireland. I would have hoped for a more modest target, but this is still chasable. We DO need a Szwarczynski birthday innings!

We can't tell. The Afghanis have no need to get things over quickly. Maybe they're simply being careful.

Yeah, in one over we got into the hole and out of it again. Right now, we're making things a bit messy, to collect the last few runs. Thank the cricket gods for RtD! I trust the will make thigns right! Edit: We should also thank the Afghanis for their wides!

From cricinfo: 8.6 Mohammad Nabi to van Bunge, no run, straighter one, forward defence, beaten, nearly got an edge to it. From cricket europe: 8.6 Mohammad Nabi to DLS van Bunge, no run. Plays and misses, Shahzad whips the bails off. Right............

151 to win from 24 overs. That sounds like a chasable target!

47/0 after 6. As there is a realistic possibility of run-rates becoming important, we've got ourselves a golden opportunity here!

Given the lack of attention to these matches, we probably will never see a re-run of it.. Anyway, Kervezee makes very good use of his tiem at the crease :) . 25 from 14 now.

ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier, UAE 2010

Hmm, we've kept things very tidy for most of the time, but the last two overs, he Afghans have lifted the score to 128. Still, that seems not that many! However, Afghanistan have batted first in all matches so far, not scored too many runs so far, yet managed to win them all, so far. -The...
