No wonder you and Rich have some ripper conversations...

I meant in the fullness of time.

Agree Jaques has copped some harsh ones, but baffling to suggest that North doesn't merit, on performances delivered, his place in the team. Similarly, don't really see why Rogers should be ahead of Hughes anymore - he shouldn't be far behind or in any way out of calculations, but Hughes has...

What shoul SA do when their ENG exports come running back to SA?

That qualification of being from somewhere surely provided by residency or citizenship. What does waiting for years prove?

What shoul SA do when their ENG exports come running back to SA?

I'd say the current level is too long - makes it too hard. I'd change it to two years myself.

Ball reportedly still refusing to even speak with anyone bar Collingwood. Good man.

I think his best position would be 4, but agree opening seems a better fit for him than 6.

Yeah, agree both Rogers and Jaques are stiff. That said, if Watson can put together a decent run of fitness, I think he can and will be an important player and Hughes couldn't do much more at FC level, and unlike Rogers seized his initial chance when given a go in the test team. Long term it...

What shoul SA do when their ENG exports come running back to SA?

Mystifies me as to why anyone would care. Can't say I'd bear any animosity if someone like Brad Hodge or Phil Jaques decided to move to NZ or England to try and play internationals. Where someone came from is so much less important than where they choose to be. Certainly any Australian...

Rare real good news story in cricket administration. Well done to all involved. Hope this helps Pakistan cricket survive and prosper through this hard period.

I think they don't like axing players, and that they wouldn't have been too upset if Huss had retired from tests in the interim, but his hundred and ODI form means that they're giving him another shot. If he doesn't perform, and Hughes scores more runs in the Shield, I don't expect him to last...

Shiv is going to need to score around 500 runs in this coming series for it to be at all competitive based on what we've seen so far.

Because there's been a problem with the performances he's provided an an opener? Given he played well in the Ashes saying you have a problem with his selection because we lost the Ashes makes no sense. If you want to say you think he should be dropped for another reason, say that. I disagree...

    CSA worried about crowd attendance...

I'll admit I'm not an expert and happy to be corrected, but I understood that previously the black population of SA felt little affection for the national cricket team and therefore it could only be said to unite a part of the country. Surely changing that is vital to the game's long term...

    CSA worried about crowd attendance...

If we're talking strictly about the quota's effects on levels of interest in the game and from that, crowd attendance, surely the quota is likely to result higher levels of interest and participation from the black majority than would otherwise be the case - so medium term it might be a swings...

    CSA worried about crowd attendance...

You're kidding right? The presence of Kevin Pietersen in the squad might also have indicated that he wasn't suggesting a line up for South Africa in either the next test OR ODI.
