Yeah, Sarwen's was worse than Bravo's, but Dwayne's effort remained a shot in the air, close to a fieldsman placed for the catch, to a ball he didn't have to play at, having just arrived at the crease, with your team in a decent position, but knowing that there's little in the way of batting...

Mate, I agree that the referral system is a dog and Roach got stuck with a bad decision (although given there was a noise - which with the benefit of replays and snicko did not seem to be caused by bat but which occurred exactly as ball passesld bat - the decision was not a howler). But to...

Actually they just showed snicko and it did show a small noise, although not characteristic of a knick, when the ball passed the bat - presumably what prompted Bowden to say out. That said, replays and hotspot clearly showed it wasn't ball hitting bat, so not out for mine. This for me just...

Glad this system will stop unfair decisions. 8-). That wasn't out, and I'd be pissed if I was Gayle and Roach.

Be a real shame if this test is best remembered for Watto's dumb act or even the Haddin-Johnson-Benn push an shove, because there's been some great cricket played. Watson and Katich on day one, Roach roughing up Ponting, Haddin's knock. Gayle's awesome innings, and Dough-boys bowling, Bravo's...

Am coming around to this. Love what he does when he's actually batting and bowling, and love what he brings to the team if he's fit and in form in terms of awesome balance, but as a person, definitely slipping from not minding the guy and wanting to defend him from his knockers to thinking he's...

Since coming into the team, Siddle (14 matches) has taken 52 wickets at 31.34 (3.7 per match), going for 3.08 an over and striking every 61 balls . Since coming back into the team, Hauritz (9 matches) has taken 30 wickets at 34.43 (3.3 per match), going for 2.81 an over and striking every 73...

Dude, I'm as big a Siddle fan as there is on this site, and I'd admit there's no way he should be in ahead of Hauritz if Hilfenhaus, Bollinger, Johnson AND Watson are in the team. Watto is in good bowling form at the moment and in the last twelve months Hauritz has consistently bowled better...

    The CW50 - No.6

Not of itself necessarily. Gavaskar and Border held the runs record when they retired, and yet their repute has probably declined slightly since they finished and new similar players have emerged. And I think some people will precisely start to look just at his average - we see that all the time...

I factored in ODI performances - that's a big part of why I had Tendulkar around 6 iirc.

Alright, I suppose the review system is useful in some circumstances.

Get Norfh off and Watson on IMO.

Surely Ponting will be saying that he likes being able to throw the ball to a guy who'll won't be loose. 'Ritz being put to the sword here. Surprised Deonarine doesn't have a bat sponsor.

By the way, I can bull**** on Tarantino actually believing that quote.

Think it will be Sachin who slides rather than Warne tbh in public opinion. There will be other batting sensations who the kids will refuse to believe that Sachin was superior to, but we won't see a spinner to rival Warne or Murali within that 20 year timeframe you're talking about.

Been very impressed with him here. McKay should make way for whichever of Hilfenhaus or Siddle is fitter, but Doug has earnt a starting spot in the XI for now IMO. If both Hilfenhaus and Siddle are fit, I'd take Hilfenhaus on recent form, with Siddle 12th man.
