Why take the new ball one over late???

If Prior takes England home from this point..... oh.....

Very good this! So, at what point do we start thinking it's England's game to lose? When these two are still there and the new ball is 8 overs old, me thinks.

    I agree. And he is!

The last 30 overs, the RRR has gone up from 3,6 to 3,95. So nothing really to worry about, I guess. Anyway, Broad's gone, so if this RRR discussion wasn't already superfluous, it is now.

I had never ever heard of that rule..... I think I've once seen a dismissal where the batsman had driven the ball on the onside, about a foot of the ground, straight to the non-striker who got it on his pads......., right into the bowler's hands. Does this rule only apply to fielders then?

Missed that ball, but what exactly happened to make it a dead ball?

I can see why bowlers get over excited (guilty myself, I guess) sometimes, but a leg break bowler at test level, bowling to a right hander should know a thing or two indeed!

What I think is quite encouraging for SA, is that winning a series in England is probably the hardest task there is these days. And so far it looks like they will do so quite convincingly!

Cricket can be a funny game, but I can't see Broad (& Prior) do it . I guess Broad will swing his bat a bit and get out the moment he actually starts to fancy a chance of winning :) .

Maybe, but Prior is most certainly not part of the tail!

Well, imho, it's pretty even now. I can see Prior & JB (what's with the YJB???) add a few before Broad and Swann add a few more. If they are, England won't be far behind after two innings.

Nah, At the end of day two you'ld rather trail by 100 runs with 6 wickets in hand than trail by 75 with 5 or 4 wickets in hand.

I guess there is not too much in it for him today. I wonder why Kallis has been thrown the ball to a few more times.

IIRC Jonny was done in by Roach all times. I rate Roach quite highly! So far, my defense of WW :) . Anyway, against the Windies, Bairstow never played under any sort of pressure. Coming in at 6 while trailing 250 against Steyn & co is really the real deal. And he has handled it quite well. Not...

It's the Sangakkara-helmet, not? I've always liked that. Anyway, the kid needs to make a few runs to get this match back into something exciting.

I don't think that is the point here. Roach had a few swings and misses as well and got away with it .
