*Official* Australia vs Pakistan in England

Just realised that it likely coincides with the soccer World Cup, so SBS certainly won't be showing it. And it's unlikely 9 will be willing to interrupt its nightly CSI - Des Moines marathon. Guessing Foxsports might, but don't have that... :(

Will laugh my ass off if Akhtar plays.

    Playing Selector: Dream ODI XI

Regardless of who gets in in the final poll (and it's looking pretty certain it will be Kluesener and Pollock or Symonds), this is a pretty kick-ass team.

    Random country draft

Yeah, no-one has any excuses for not having a decent pace attack after this.

    Random country draft

aiight, in the interests of keeping things moving, going with my proposal. Round 9 - West Indies II Zinzan Joe Himannv 99* Cevno HB Somerset Matt79 Blakus Brumby

Dream ODI XI: Choose the last TWO players

Exactly the same as Jack tbh. Symonds is a triple threat - he's a decent enough sixth bowling option, an amazing batsman and an awesome presence in the field. Kapil Dev is an amazing ODI package - the best of the great 80s allrounders in ODI terms IMO. Check out his average and strike rate...

    Random country draft

For the last three rounds, we'll do a random draw of countries. To prevent anyone being too harshly disadvantaged should they get a low draw on one of the weaker countries, I'll make the pool that will selected from: Australia England WI SA India/NZ Pak/SL People happy with that?

    Random country draft

bah! Was just starting to think that George would slip all the way to me. Still Sir Everton Weekes (4455 @ 58.61) is a more than decent fall-back position. - - Everton Weekes (4455 @ 58.61) Mahela Jayawardene (9120 @ 53.96) Martin Donnelly (582 @ 52.90) Imran Khan (3807 @ 37.69, 362w @...

ODI's and T20's really popular among females?

This years IPL actually. Thought you had me on ignore because I disagree with you.

Who is the best ODI player of all time?

If we're factoring in multi-disciplinary ideas, Ponting should be included by virtue of his batting, fielding and captaincy. No-one has captained more ODI wins than him - 157. Allan Border is the next most successful with 107, then Cronje with 99.

Who is the best ODI player of all time?

If you make a big enough contribution in your chosen specialist field, the fact you only made small, or no, contribution in any other field doesn't matter. Surprised you're not keener on the idea of Murali being the best ODI player of all time - I think he's definitely in there.
  16. Matt79

Who is the best ODI player of all time?

Out of Tendulkar, Gilchrist, Murali or McGrath for me. Don't see how you can sensibly split them if the measure is 'contribution to team success'.

*Official* Australia vs Pakistan in England

Take it this won't be telecast on free-to-air tv in Oz. Shame, the timezone works out well for an evening's viewing here. Cmon SBS!

ODI's and T20's really popular among females?

My wife quite likes test cricket, watched ten minutes of a T20 and said "this is just stupid, so they're just trying to slog every ball then?". Smart woman.

Dream ODI XI: Choose THREE middle order batsmen

    Pretty simple: Ponting Richards Bevan

Would You Go Along To A Neutral Test Match?

Voted "at a reduced price" but if it were between two genuinely good teams, say SA and India, I'd pay full price. If it featured one decent team and one of the teams outside the top 4-5, I'd go but want to pay less. If it was one of the minnows vs anyone but Australia, probably not.
