What would be the most threatning team...

Actually, I think NZ would be one of the teams that would improve least in this scenario, which I mean as a compliment to their team unity and professionalism in real life.

What would be the most threatning team...

Hypothetically, probably India or Pakistan, although I think it would actually be very close. Australia and South Africa would be up there, but would lose their primary advantage over the rest in that they have developed teams that more consistently produce close to their best, have good team...

    Different measurements of bowlers

You're welcome to collate it - I don't think the stat on number of innings a bowler actually bowled in is readily retrievable online, but would be delighted to be wrong (obviously you can do it for individuals manually, so feel free to go work it out for Barnes and Murali as I get the vibe...

    Border, definitely.

    Ambrose Vs Mcgrath?

Ambrose for me, just. Many similarities between the two, but Ambrose, IMO, had that extra yard of pace sometimes, and that extra degree of steeple in the bounce.

yeah, you might be right. Shouldn't be making it into a country vs country thing anyway - apologies for that.

But what a first half it was though. Could make the same argument regarding Waqar as well.

    Different measurements of bowlers

Re the point about missing out on wickets because you're team mate snaffles them - it's certainly a factor - Murali and Hadlee's prominence isn't accidental. That said, I think players like Warne, Marshall, etc, who had other greats around them, make that gap back and more in terms of the extra...

    End of the T20 specialist?

Scaly! We've found ourselves in some kind of vague agreement! It's a kodak moment

    Different measurements of bowlers

I think we are agreeing with each other (or at least, let me say, I agree with you). His inclusion in the table reflected nothing more than he was in the top 100 wicket takers of all time. Although honestly, his strike rate isn't that bad. 67 is comparable to many other middle of the road...

    Different measurements of bowlers

I think most would rank him as clearly the best bowler in the world (cough Dougeh, cough), but I know I'm always pretty reluctant to start comparing a guy with the majority of his career hopefully still ahead of him with guys who have finished their career.

    Different measurements of bowlers

slightly random selection there - away matches since 2006, exc. NZ, WIs and the minnows?

    Different measurements of bowlers

Yeah, the sole qualification I used for inclusion in the table was that you were in the top 100 wicket takers of all time...

    Different measurements of bowlers

^^ Actually, in his 27 matches, he bowled in two innings in 24 of them. 2 of them, he only bowled in one innings, and in one, he didn't get to bowl at all - England batted, and then only a couple of overs of the Aussies first innings were played before rain - so that match counts, but really...

    Different measurements of bowlers

Yeah, was thinking that. He's already getting to the stage where he's played enough tests over a six year period for the "well he's just starting, let's see him keep it up" argument to be losing much force. His strike rate is phenomenal - again, on this list of the 100 greatest wicket takers...
