India - Javagal Srinath, Anil Kumble, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra, Harbhajan Singh, Avishkar Salvi, more that I can't remember ATM. Indian bowlers are plagued with injuries.

    **Official** Bangladesh in West Indies

Samuels looked very good. He played an amazing knock when WI were here in 2002. I feel he can still make it big. And what happened to Ryan Hurley? Will he only be considered for the sub-continent?

    England's openers at Headingley.

Interesting. When will you post the article?

    England's openers at Headingley.

Strauss has just shown some superb capability as an opener and between Vaughan and Trescothick, it's Trescothick who should be dropped down the order IMO.

    England's openers at Headingley.

But we haven't even tried him out yet. We tried Sehwag and that was probably the best thing ganguly has done as captain.

    England's openers at Headingley.

Off topic - but do you agree with Akash Chopra being dropped for Yuvi?

    England's openers at Headingley.

Well Gilchrist and Ganguly also bat at 6. Maybe it's the slot for aggressive players.

    Current third-best spinner?

So you rate Kumble a better bowler than Murali because you have some personal likes and dislikes? Or are you saying you just like Kumble more?
  12. chicane

    Current third-best spinner?

    Why and Why?
  13. chicane

    Current third-best spinner?

But even if you put aside the current controversy, how is Kumble better than Murali? Statistics don't say it. Kumble himself won't agree. But if it's your personal preference, so be it. :D

    Current third-best spinner?

Seriously? Even if you argue that the doosra is illegal, just his offbreaks are enough to make him the best spinner ATM. Kumble himself will fell embarassed being rated higher than Murali because he has huge respect for him.
  15. chicane

    Current third-best spinner?

We got Murali Kartik and Ramesh Powar. Sri Lanka have Rangana Herath. Pakistan have Danish Kaneria. All of them are for the future.

one-dayers are not just a batsmans game

Yeah what you outlined is true, there are too many flat batting tracks and fast outfields everywhere. Only in some spinning tracks in the sub-continent, bouncy wickets in Australia and SA, and some swinging tracks in Eng and NZ the bowlers have some assistance. I'm not taking anything away from...

Harbhajan, Munaf get India call ups

Mebbe for the games against the ultra-minnows they should be given chances. Gambhir and Munaf have to be tried out.

one-dayers are not just a batsmans game

Bhooth you seriously think Irfan is in the league of Marshall!  He's done nothing yet to be compared to greats. Don't overrate him so much.

    Current third-best spinner?

Warne and McGrath didn't play for a while too but they're still the best.
  20. chicane

    Current third-best spinner?

    Agreed.
