    Does anybody rate Ryan Hurley?

Certainly been a disaapointment after his good List A record in the Caribbean. Certainly a brilliant fielder. Is Gareth Breese anygood?

1, what do you view as a wicket taking ball? And with what ball is a wicket deserved? 2, Is a batsman edges a ball and it was one of those catches were the fielder catches the ball just before it hits the ground and is given not out, and is on7, but goes on to 278 without giving another chance...

Best player to play only one Test?

1, Stuart Law - scored 54* and got left out and never played again 2, Andy Ganteaume who scored 112 on Test debut for the WI (he's from T&T) and never played Test cricket. Apprantly he was too slow. 3, Rod Redmond of NZ who played one Test and scored a 100 and 50 in his first Test and never...

The Indian selectors are the best in the world

Certainly have the easiet job IMO. Their top seven pick themselves with Chopra suited to Shewag as he can run short singles and field well at short leg. Numbers 3-6 have as much of being dropped or left out (unless injured) as Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger (ATM)and The Queen have of...

    Is this a first?

Reading my local paper today, some bloke named Darren Scott in Victoria wrote a letter to James Sutherland - as a joke - to apply for the position as captain of Australia following the retirement of Shane Waugh (Steve Waugh). This guy is nothing more then a club cricketer but the funny part is...

    A cricket six-hit off?

I would just like say before the ICC Champs Throphey or a World Cup where all the games big hitters get together to see who can hit the biggest sixes. They have that baseball. So the big hitters would be: Adam Gilchrist, Ricky Ponting, Matt Hayden, Sean Ervine, Andy Blignaut, Lance Klusener...

Why would you want to be a bowler?

Why would you? Unless you are in NZ, there is really no point. Majority of pitches dont help or assist the bowlers, except boost the batsmen averages. A lot of batsmen seem to get nothing but flat wickets, quicker outfields and shorten boundries, plus the declining state of bowling standards...

No more Seaman on team sheets

Dont know if it is a good thing in Man City signing David "Butterfingers" James and with David Seaman retiring. Imagine a headline of the following: "No more Seaman on Man City team list" "Keegan looks for clean sheets as Seaman retires" "Keegan wipes Seaman off team list as James shoots...

    England 'A' named

England have named their 'A' squad for the tour of India and Malaysia and it looks like a development type squad. The big inclusions are Ed Smith (Rik will be pleased), Simon Jones and Kevin Pietersen. Some of the squad members arent regular first team members of their respective counties.

    *Official** New Zealand in England

This is not the Official tour thread but a thread to discuss the likely results, predictations etc. I predicate a 2-1 result to either side as IMO both sides are pretty even. This would be the likely tour squad (one I would pick): Richardson, Fulton, Papps, Fleming, Styris, McMillan, Astle (if...

Did anybody here Colin Bland play?

Apart from LE did anybody else here see Colin Bland play? Was he a better a fielder then Jonty Rhodes purely because from what I have read he could field in more positions? A good batsman?

Boata Dippenaar - cricket's biggest underachiever

Its a shame for me to call Boata Dippenaar a underachiever, but I feel he is. I'm a fan of him, but it annoys me greatly that this guy hasnt lived up to his potential and ability :( :( He has a good one-day international record for South Africa (he does average over 40 I think) but its Tests...

    England squad named

England has named an unchanged Test squad to the West Indies with Johnson out and Kirtley dropped. Simon Jones (surprise, surprise) is on standby and is an option to be added to the squad. Richard will be annoyed Robert Damien Bale Croft is left out and Rik will be peeved off that Rikki Clarke...

    Chris Cairns under pressure?

Frankly his spot might be in doubt. As far as I am concerned he isnt performing and as far as I am concerned, if you dont preform you dont make the team. IMo he's getting picked on reputation. He doesnt seem to be putting the results on the board. IMO he will retire after the England tour.

    What ever happened to?

What ever happened to: Wajahattuallah Wasti? David Sewell? (who played one Test for New Zealand in 96/97), Antony Stuart (who took a hat-trick against Pakistan in 96/97 and then dropped)?, and Mike Smith (who played for England and Australia in 1997)?
