Battle of Cricketers - CW's Favorite Cricketer

Ryder. Think both Sinclair and Ryder are awesome. Want both of them to do well, backing Sinclair in the current test and Ryder in the long term.

    Akthar or Thomson?

Their records suggest Shoaib was more potent, better average, SR, more 5fers, more 10s and similar ER. If the era Shoaib played in is considered to be tougher for bowlers, and the lack of a quality support consistently through his career is taken into account as a handicap, then it makes his...

Vaas vs Srinath vs Lee vs Zaheer vs Sobers

What do you mean by substantial career here? From what I have interpreted, one post is suggesting reasonable consistency and another is suggesting the opposite.

Akhtar. The pace race, the numerous incredible spells, the presence on field, the catalyst effect on his team, the run-up, the controversies, the unfulfilled potential. Awesome.

    CHICAGO - Anyone home !

Have always thought desi (desh=country) relates to all people from those countries. At least in my experience its used that way, and used even for Sri Lankans.

Which was the most painful defeat for India?

Yeah fair enough, they played to their strengths. It was just sad viewing though, especially because neither team's batsmen were really able to cope with the conditions. A replay would probably be fun however, with the overdose of flat pitches in recent times.

Which was the most painful defeat for India?

Yeah NZ 2002 was bad. Horrible pitches aside, it was the first full away series I followed, hapless India in swinging conditions and all. Contrasting fortunes for some of my favourite players too. Zak and Bond were great, Sehwag had some success, but it was the start of the rut for Sachin.

Which was the most painful defeat for India?

I didn't see WI '97. All others hurt but 2004 vs Aus the worst one for me. Worst match defeat - '99 Kolkata.

Dirk Nannes is pretty much 34 and bowling 150+.
