*Official* First Test at Swalec Stadium, Cardiff

Eng a/o early in the final session - Australia to win by 10 wickets. Reckon Katich/North may be the trump cards, if they get a chance to bowl

    Last Man Standing: Ashes 2009

Yes - Let's hope the rain stays away - England don't deserve to get away with such a putrid bowling perfomance

Super over by Midge - awesome stuff. Slower yorker does in Strauss, Bouncer hits Bopara, Slower ball completely deceives Bopara who just clears mid-off and finally a bouncer to get rid of Strauss.

Should Brett Lee be selected for the Ashes?

Feel sorry for Lee - worked so hard to get fit and get back on track and now he's injured. Still don't want to see Hauritz loitering around the XI - Give me some Maccas!

 Fell asleep early on in the second set :(. Congrats to Roddick - he gave Federer absolutely everything and then some but tightened up on some key points which proved to be the difference. Roddick will be devastated by this, not sure if he can ever beat Roger in a GS again. From other...

The last Ashes without referrals – a running tally of umpiring errors

Reckon there will be approximately 7 obvious umpiring errors this series. Why 7? Tis my favourite number :)

Agree with UC. So many more reasons to pick Clark over Macca. Clark offers extra pace, more accurate and can take a few poles if the conditions suit. Didn't he take 26 wickets in 06/07 in an attack that included McGrath and Warne. McDonald plays a defensive role whereas Clark can be both. NB...

Easily had the best backhand in the game.

Reckon Roger will be caught off guard and be pushed to 5 sets tonight. Roddick's playing some very good tennis and has made big improvements in his arsenal outside his traditional weapons - big serve and booming forehand. I'm not convinced that Roddick has made the mental adjustments that...

Thank god. We will definitely need him to lead the line.

You know what really grinds my sporting gears?

So what can be done to level the playing field in all the major domestic leagues in general? Obviously whatever the plan is, it's going to be a slow process but some sort of financial redistribution/greater opportunity to loan/buy players for teams at the bottom relative to the rest has to be...

    Vaughan to retire?

AWTA. Could have envisioned a big hoo-haa if England did badly in the first test and some one like Bopara was to blame.

Has already got a contract extension 8-)

You know what really grinds my sporting gears?

Something still needs to be done to redress the imbalance between the big 4 or 5 (if you include Man City) and the rest. As I don't understand the finer details of the EPL, I can't really advocate a solution but you just can't have the recently promoted teams to continually aim to avoid...

    AFL 1997-Present: Non-key Backs

Archer and Wanganeen personally. McLeod is obv brilliant as a dashing half-back but Wanganeen has the edge over him defensively and I'd rather him in an aerial contest against a small forward than McLeod.

Should Brett Lee be selected for the Ashes?

I'd chuck North in there as well
