I love a mercurial sportsperson. In any sport. Someone who isn’t always in the game but suddenly does outrageous things 99% of other players can’t is one of sport’s best things. That try was next level. Latrell Mitchell a similar sort of player. Glenn Maxwell in cricket too. Might have an error...

    Best bowler to tour England?

Yeah he was very good in that series. I'd forgotten about him. Terrorized Greg Blewett with his wrong 'un iirc

    Best bowler to tour England?

Visiting spinners usually don't do well here for whatever reason. Even the best of them in Murali has a bad record. Underwood always struck me as tough to face, though he often really operated like a very accurate slow-medium pacer. I saw Bedi and Chandra in 77/78 when I was a kid but I was too...

    Best bowler to tour England?

Very tough. Hadlee's tours in the mid-late 80s in particular were crazy, Ambrose generally bowled to a stronger Aus line up. Am a bit surprised to see he only played a couple more tests here than Hadlee. I had thought he played a lot more. Such different bowlers. I really don't know which of...

    Best bowler to tour England?

Yeah fine bowler in England for sure, but missed 85 through being a traitor to his people and humanity, so that and the consequential small sample size counts against him. What he did in 89 was ****ing hilarious though.

    Best bowler to tour England?

If you think Shane Warne's 2005 Ashes series is over rated then you have your head up your own arse.

    Best bowler to tour England?

Murali is the most over rated cricketer on this website by so far it isn't even funny. FMD I used to hope he would bowl at both ends when he played Australia. He lost a leg when they merely announced a series against us, let alone play one. Mentally not up to it. Second rate.

    Best bowler to tour England?

Warne was comfortably the best player in the 2005 Ashes, and the fact he produced that sort of series with bat and ball at the fag end of his career is pretty astonishing tbh.

    Best bowler to tour England?

Look, it's so obviously McGrath it isn't worth thinking about. If McGrath and Murali are in the same team playing in England, Murali barely gets a bowl because McGrath has ****ed the opposition already. Besides, overall Murali was ordinary against the best, let's be honest. McGrath was...

Lomax back this week. Round 11 and he will play his first game with Moses at the club. If you want an insight into why we are going so badly, that is at least part of it. Shame Simonsen is injured, we could have had a decent full strength backline in this week. Young Tuivati being out for an...

And typically more of them. certainly if you’re looking for exemplars of technical orthodoxy, each of Root, Williamson and Kohli have it over Smudge. Kohli is one of the players I’ve evolved into really liking over time. Used to not like the attitude, but then realised he walked his talk. Came...

Cribb insisting the person interpreting his message has the comprehension problem rather than the message itself being incomprehensible is one reason why his Party got 0.54% of the vote at the recent federal election.

Virat Kohli Retires from Test Cricket

Been a tremendous player for India in this format and the others. Arguably the most important Indian cricketer ever, for reasons I've mentioned previously. Did a fine job as skipper too, really got the best out of his side for a prolonged period and took their fitness and fielding standards to...
