He leaked too many runs in the format to be ahead of either McGrath or Starc imo. He could arguably be first change but there’s some good competition with the likes of Lillee or even Bracken.

If you’re across all formats I agree, I think in tests it’s close and I would probably say MJ just shades him on the basis of sheer destructiveness. Both rocks and diamonds bowlers, though Johnson a more extreme example imo. I don’t think I will ever get as consistently erect over a cricket...

Realistically, any of Weatherald, Renshaw, Ward, Bancroft or Harris (shudder) would score more runs than Konstas rn. McSweeney too. Primarily because they have a bit of fc experience batting in tough conditions, even if they aren’t world beaters.

And still averaged around over 50 during that period, being his lean patch. He leaves everyone else discussed in this thread for dead. Anyone saying Joe Root let alone this Brook ****wit who's been around seven seconds and has a brain fart every third dig is in the same class as Border let...

Carl hooper was saying on the radio this morning there’s some proposal to bring in standardised match payments across the board for test matches. That would have to help keep some guys from joint the t20 circuit for a while you’d hope

Poor old Carl Hopper on the radio. He’s apoplectic. Good news for our Kiwi brethren though. You guys remain the Charles Bannerman of abjectly shithouse test innings totals.
