    ODI Bowlers Poll - discussions

At least Malinga made the list. IMO there are others more worthy than both of them. But that's the beauty(?) of polls.

    ODI Bowlers Poll - discussions

I edited (above) my 15 to 13. There were two players I had on my list of contenders who have yet to receive a vote.

    ODI Bowlers Poll - discussions

As our list grows, it is expected that later inductees will have lesser credentials than those above them. However, when we consider the stats of the 13 players who have attracted votes in the past but have yet to be added to the list, then our results (as suggested by Qldr) might be considered...

    ODI Bowlers Poll - discussions

My approach would be flawed if I solely considered ER, or even if I gave it top priority. I think my approach is fairly balanced. Having said that, I must confess I'm not a huge follower of ODIs and initially had a fairly limited group (including Chatfield) that I intended considering. This...

    All Time ODI Bowlers Poll

11 voters and 12 players nominated. None received more than 5 nominations and 8 had multiple mentions. This is definitely at a very interesting stage. ODI Bowlers Poll - discussions

My voting has consistently favoured bowlers with good economy. I didn't mention it in my last post as I was (unashamedly) playing down FdV.

    ODI Bowlers Poll - discussions

Having all these names thrown into the mix and, having checked their credentials, we certainly have enough contenders to complete a Top 40. Not sure de Villiers (ave 27.75 & SR 46.55) warrants a place above the seven (there may be more) with averages < 25 and superior SRs. Could still squeeze...

    ODI Bowlers Poll - discussions

Good point. But none have an economy rate <4. Only McDermott is <4.50 200 wickets is a high bar. With that qualification, you would lose ATG ODI bowlers like Garner and Hadlee.

Marginally better in terms of average and much better in SR but far fewer games and an inferior ER. Line ball decision for me. Having said that, if our poll goes to 40 then perhaps both will be "in".

    ODI Bowlers Poll - discussions

I agree with the assessments of Starc and Shami. Both can leak runs but both have impressive strike rates. As for Rashid Khan, his stats may be enhanced by the quality of his opposition at times, but he is "in" now so we move on. Time for me to re-introduce Chatfield to the voting. He, and Bob...

    All Time ODI Bowlers Poll

Down to 10 voters. We don't want to lose more if we are to extend beyond 30. Just 7 nominations with only 5 getting multiple votes. T.Boult 18 A.Roberts 15 Rashi Khan 10 L.Malinga 9 C.Vaas 6 M.Johnson 1 F.de Villiers 1 Voting is now open for positions 23-25 ODI BOWLERS POLL...

What are the greatest bowling performances of the following bowlers?

Broad may not be rated as highly as the ATGs mentioned in the OP but, as Northerner pointed out, his 8-15 was something special.

    ODI Bowlers Poll - discussions

Rashid Khan's stats are certainly impressive, but often playing against minnows it his hard to align him with most other candidates being nominated. Until Warne was voted in, all the players had an average under 25. Averages shouldn't be the only consideration with strike rate a vital aspect...
